RotH2, a French leader in very high-pressure gas storage, announces a €6.6 million capital increase. This transaction represents an important milestone for the company and will notably enable it to accelerate its R&D in breakthrough technologies for the storage of industrial gases, particularly hydrogen.
1 – RotH2, a historic industrial expertise focused on future markets
April 8, 2026 — Based in Mions in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, RotH2 has been forging very high-pressure seamless steel cylinders since 1975, thanks to a unique expertise: hot flow forming forging. An industrial feat that RotH2 is the only company to master in France.
Long positioned in the diving cylinder and accumulator shell markets, the company has undergone a strategic shift since its acquisition in 2021 by the Marsac family. It has progressively redirected its expertise toward future-oriented markets, particularly the storage of industrial gases such as hydrogen, as well as the development of hybrid racks and transport systems.
2 – In four years, RotH2 has significantly modernized its industrial capabilities:
• Development of Type II cylinders capable of withstanding up to 1,000 bar pressure (a European first)
• Design and certification of hybrid transport racks at 500 and 1,000 bar
• Industrialization of solutions adapted to a rapidly structuring hydrogen sector (micro refueling stations, etc.)
The company has thus transformed its historical expertise, based on hot flow forming forging, to position itself in the strategic green energy storage market.
3 – A capital increase to accelerate innovation
RotH2 finalized a €6.6 million capital increase in December 2025, including €2.7 million contributed by new investors, demonstrating confidence in its industrial project and long-term potential.
This transaction will enable RotH2 to finance three strategic priorities:
• Accelerate R&D on Type V tanks, a key technology for the coming decade
• Strengthen working capital requirements (WCR) to support commercial growth
• Modernize production facilities to anticipate future industrial and safety standards
Quentin Marsac, Chief Executive Officer of RotH2:
“Since acquiring the company in 2021, we have achieved several industrial successes with major innovations in the field of high-pressure gas storage. This capital increase will allow us, in addition to supporting our operations, to significantly strengthen our R&D. Our ambition is to become one of the European leaders in the storage, transport, and refueling of very high-pressure gases.”
