Air Antilles Placed in Liquidation

AeroMorning – John Smith — April 27, 2026

Air Antilles has been placed into judicial liquidation with immediate cessation of operations by the Commercial Court of Pointe-à-Pitre on April 27, 2026, marking the final collapse of the French Caribbean carrier after months of financial and regulatory turmoil.

The airline’s downfall began in December 2025, when France’s civil aviation authority (DGAC) suspended its operating certificate over serious safety deficiencies, grounding the fleet and cutting off revenue.

Unable to recover from the operational shutdown, Air Antilles declared cessation of payments in January 2026, leading to its placement under judicial restructuring (“redressement judiciaire”) in February 2026, with a six-month observation period intended to explore recovery or takeover options.

Despite this legal protection phase, no viable rescue plan or acquisition offer was ultimately approved. On April 27, 2026, the court ruled that the company must be liquidated immediately, ending all activity.

The sequence of events—from regulatory suspension to insolvency and failed restructuring—highlights the fragility of regional carriers operating under tight financial and compliance constraints, where loss of certification can rapidly trigger total operational collapse.
