March 27, 2026 — AerFin, the global aviation asset specialist, has acquired a fourth Boeing 777‑300ER previously operated by Japan Airlines (JAL), continuing its strategic investment in one of the most widely used long‑haul aircraft platforms in the world.
he aircraft recently arrived in Roswell, New Mexico, where AerFin will process the airframe and integrate its components into its global inventory. This acquisition builds on AerFin’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its ability to supply high‑quality, serviceable Boeing 777 parts to airlines, lessors and MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) partners around the world.
AerFin already maintains a significant inventory of 777 parts distributed through its warehousing network across the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) region, the Americas, and Asia‑Pacific, ensuring operators have timely access to needed components.
Auvinash Narayen, Chief Investment Officer at AerFin, emphasized the continued relevance of the Boeing 777‑300ER, stating that it remains “one of the most dependable and widely used long‑haul aircraft in service today.” He added that AerFin’s ongoing investments in the platform reflect confidence both in the aircraft type and in the customers that operate it.
The company’s strategy focuses on expanding its parts and materials offerings to support operators’ maintenance needs, helping to keep fleets flying cost‑effectively and reliably. With strong demand for Boeing 777 support, AerFin continues to collaborate with airlines, lessors and MRO providers to offer flexible asset solutions and dependable parts access.
Background Context
- Japan Airlines has been gradually retiring older Boeing 777‑300ER aircraft as it modernizes its fleet with newer models such as the Airbus A350‑1000.
- AerFin has previously acquired multiple 777‑300ER aircraft from JAL for parts and teardown operations, reflecting a broader trend in the aviation aftermarket where aging widebody airframes are repurposed to support active fleets.
Why It Matters
The Boeing 777‑300ER remains a backbone of many long‑haul airline fleets due to its range, reliability and global support ecosystem. By expanding its inventory with another former JAL aircraft, AerFin is positioning itself as a key supplier of materials and components that help operators reduce costs and maintain aircraft availability.
