Unseenlabs Announces Upcoming Launch of BRO-19, the Latest Satellite in Its Constellation

Unseenlabs

Rennes, France – March 26, 2026 – Unseenlabs announces the upcoming launch of BRO-19, the twentieth satellite in its constellation, dedicated to maritime domain awareness. BRO-19 will be launched as part of the next shared launch mission Transporter-16 from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California (United States). BRO-19 is integrated on SpaceX’s Falcon 9 rocket via the German launch integrator Exolaunch.

Like the other satellites in the constellation, BRO-19 will detect radio frequency (RF) signals emitted by vessels at sea in order to support geolocation and activity characterization, including those of ships that may not be visible through traditional tracking systems such as AIS (Automatic Identification System).

With BRO-19, we continue deploying our constellation. The objective is simple: to help our customers better understand activities at sea, even when information is not reported or is unreliable,” said Clément Galic, CEO and co-founder of Unseenlabs.

Unseenlabs’ satellites detect radio frequency (RF) signals from space in order to monitor maritime activities and support enhanced maritime surveillance. This new satellite further strengthens the company’s monitoring and analytical capabilities.

This data contributes to the detection and tracking of:
a- IUU fishing (Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated)
b- discharges at sea
c- suspicious activities near critical infrastructure (subsea cables, offshore platforms)

RF-based solutions are used by government customers, NGOs, and private sector players (marine insurers, oil and gas companies, shipowners, etc.), such as S&P Global, as well as by public institutions, notably within the framework of the Copernicus programme with the European Space Agency.

Most satellite constellations rely on groups of interdependent satellites that must operate together to function. Unseenlabs’ constellation adopts a different approach based on single-satellite technology. Each satellite operates independently, making the system more agile.
