Twenty Years in The European Union: Prague Airport Symbolically Celebrated the Anniversary with Special Lufthansa Livery

On the 20th anniversary of the Czech Republic’s entry to the European Union, German airline Lufthansa’s Airbus A320 visited Václav Havel Airport Prague today with a special “Yes to Europe” livery, promoting the idea of European integration. The blue and white Airbus with a D-AIUC registration was welcomed to Prague with a water salute performed by the airport´s fire fighters.

“I am delighted that we could symbolically take part in the celebrations of the 20th anniversary of the Czech Republic’s entry into the European Union. I am pleased that Lufthansa, which has long been one of our most important airlines, has joined us by deploying an aircraft with a special European livery on this route. Destinations in the European Union are very important for us. It is confirmed by the fact that flights from Prague add up to a total of 107 destinations in 26 countries of the European Union that are scheduled in the summer timetable,”said Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prague Airport.

“I am proud to see Prague Airport symbolically celebrating the 20th anniversary of the Czech Republic’s entry into the European Union with our special “Yes to Europe” livery of Lufthansa’s Airbus A320. It is one of four aircraft in our Group that serve as ambassadors of the European idea shortly before the European elections. By having this special livery today in the Czech Republic as one of ten countries that all joined the European Union 20 years ago, we would like to highlight the importance of the European integration and the strong partnership between Prague Airport and Lufthansa Group. With 207 weekly flights scheduled in the summer timetable, we look forward to continuing our commitment to connecting the Czech Republic with Europe,” said Rhonen Azoulay, General Manager Lufthansa Group Czech Republic & Poland

European stars in the European sky

This aircraft is one of four carrying this special message on its livery. Lufthansa and Eurowings, which even has its connection to Europe at the heart of its brand name, are the first to do so, each sending an aircraft with special foil into the European skies since last week. This week, an aircraft each from Austrian Airlines and Brussels Airlines will also take off with this special livery.
