TEKEVER Wins Contract for Wildfire Detection in Canada with Phoenix Heli-Flight
16 June 2026 — TEKEVER, a leading pan-European technology company specializing in defence and security innovation through AI-powered autonomous systems, is supporting Phoenix Heli-Flight under a new contract to provide wildfire detection services in Canada.
This contract marks a major milestone in the partnership between TEKEVER and Phoenix Heli-Flight, resulting from collaboration to develop unmanned aerial capabilities for wildfire detection and firefighting in Alberta.
Following a successful evaluation, Phoenix Heli-Flight will use TEKEVER’s AR3 unmanned aerial system, combined with specialized sensor technology, to support wildfire detection and monitoring. This solution combines TEKEVER’s long-endurance drones, advanced payload integration capabilities, and the Nova Maps software platform to deliver real-time aerial intelligence.
Alberta has experienced significant wildfire outbreaks in recent years, resulting in major fires requiring substantial emergency response efforts. These events have placed intense pressure on residents, infrastructure, and emergency services. In this context, this deployment reflects the growing interest in unmanned aerial systems that can complement existing aircraft, ground response, and emergency capabilities by helping operators identify risk areas early, improve situational awareness, and make better decisions in complex and evolving environments.
Phoenix Heli-Flight is a versatile aviation operator with extensive experience supporting industrial response operations, emergency missions, and wildfire suppression in Alberta. By combining Phoenix’s local operational expertise with TEKEVER’s autonomous systems, sensor integration, and real-time intelligence capabilities, this contract will enable a more persistent, data-driven approach to wildfire detection and monitoring.
This initiative comes as TEKEVER continues to strengthen its international presence and expand its global operations. Together, these developments reflect the company’s growing role in supporting customers across defence, security, emergency response, and environmental monitoring missions worldwide.
This is an important milestone for TEKEVER, Phoenix Heli-Flight, and the evolution of unmanned systems in wildfire response in Canada. Building on our successful collaboration, this project demonstrates how long-endurance autonomous aircraft, advanced sensor technologies, and real-time intelligence can provide critical situational awareness in some of the most demanding operational environments.
As TEKEVER continues to expand its presence and support customers across Canada, we are proud to work alongside Phoenix Heli-Flight to deploy this capability for real-time wildfire detection and response, helping to protect people, critical infrastructure, and natural resources,” said Paulo Ferro, Vice President of Strategic Development at TEKEVER.
“Wildfire response relies on timely and reliable intelligence, often under some of the most challenging conditions in aviation. Our collaboration with TEKEVER combines Phoenix Heli-Flight’s operational experience in Canada with cutting-edge drones, sensors, and real-time intelligence capabilities. This important step demonstrates how autonomous systems can improve data collection, situational awareness, and decision-making, helping to protect people, infrastructure, and natural resources,” added Cameron Spring, Director of Operations at Phoenix.
The signing of this contract also confirms the potential of TEKEVER systems to support a broader range of dual-use missions, including environmental protection, emergency response, and public safety. As wildfires continue to pose growing challenges for communities, governments, and emergency services, the ability to detect and monitor situations from the air is becoming an increasingly important part of the operational landscape.
TEKEVER’s AR3 platform is already used in demanding maritime and land environments, providing flexible, long-endurance intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance capabilities. Its ability to integrate specialized sensors and operate within a broader command-and-control architecture makes it particularly suited for missions requiring continuous coverage and operational resilience.
