Delta Airlines held its press conference in Nice on March 8, 2022 with Nicolas FERRI, Vice President Europe, Middle East, Africa and India of Delta Airlines.

Delta has been in existence for 90 years and is headquartered in Atlanta, USA. It has more than 1200 aircraft, operates more than 5000 flights per day to more than 300 destinations worldwide. Before the pandemic, it carried approximately 200 million customers each year.

Delta is partnered with Air France KLM through the Skyteam alliance and the Flying Blue program which allows passengers to earn or use miles on Delta and Air France KLM flights.

Air France / KLM provides a large number of connections from Paris and Amsterdam, while Delta operates a very large transatlantic network and is the leader in New York with over 200 daily flights.

Delta was the first U.S. airline to return to profitability and has positioned itself as a premium airline. Delta Airlines is a brand recognized by the general public and its reputation is growing in the USA and in Europe with Air France KLM.

The French Riviera is a favorite destination for Americans, but in the other direction, the Provence Alpes Côte d’Azur region with its 5 million inhabitants and Piedmont and Liguria in Italy further increase the catchment area of Nice Airport to the United States. Nice is the second largest airport in France and the one with the most international connections after the Paris airports.

Delta is celebrating 30 years of presence on the Nice tarmac and will restart its direct Nice – New York JFK flights from March 27, 2022. Flights will be daily from the end of April until the end of October. 75% of local customers remain in New York.

The Nice-New York aircraft is a reconfigured B767 400 with 4 classes (Delta One, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort+ and Economy) where wifi is available and prices are competitive.

Delta attaches particular importance to sustainability and safety in all its forms. Currently, the in-flight mask is mandatory and a PCR test less than 24 hours old before boarding is required. One billion euros over 10 years will be invested in sustainability, with the withdrawal of aircraft that consume too much fuel, the development of the use of SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel), and the elimination of plastic leading to 2 million kg of single-use removed per year.
