Phu Quoc set to become a major Asia-Pacific aviation hub with scalable, fully automated passenger processing system
The Sun Group will implement SITA passenger processing technology for 24 million travelers per year by APEC 2027, as part of a plan to transform the entire Vietnamese airport network.

GENEVA – April 21, 2026 – Phu Quoc International Airport (a tourist island in Vietnam) is set to become a next-generation, fully self-service aviation hub by the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) in 2027. Sun Group, one of Vietnam’s largest private conglomerates, has partnered with SITA to carry out this transformation. In response to the rapidly growing demand for air transport in Vietnam, the parties have also signed a memorandum of understanding establishing an expanded cooperation framework for Sun Group’s future airport projects in Vietnam.
