Lorenzo Mariani Appointed Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of Leonardo
May 7, 2026 — Leonardo announced the appointment of Lorenzo Mariani as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager as part of a broader management reorganisation approved by the company’s Board of Directors.
According to an official Leonardo press release dated May 7, 2026, Mariani was appointed to lead the aerospace and defence company following the board’s approval of the new corporate structure.
Prior to his appointment as CEO and General Manager, Lorenzo Mariani served as Co‑General Manager of Leonardo and Managing Director of the company’s Electronics Division, one of the group’s core business areas focused on defence electronics, cyber security and integrated systems.
The official Leonardo statement notes: “The Board of Directors appointed Lorenzo Mariani as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager.”
The management reshuffle also included the creation of a new “General Management Department,” to be headed by Gian Piero Cutillo as Co‑General Manager.
