Liebherr technology new Light Utility Helicopter

First Liebherr was selected to supply the heating and ventilation system on board Hindustan Aeronautics Limited’s (HAL) latest Light Utility Helicopter program (LUH). The system is developed and manufactured at Liebherr-Aerospace in Toulouse (France), Liebherr’s center of excellence for air management systems. This new contract illustrates the very positive dynamics that drives the development of the cooperation between HAL and Liebherr.

Toulouse (France), January 2022 – Liebherr-Aerospace and the Indian aircraft manufacturer HAL have signed a contract about the supply of the heating and ventilation system for HAL’s new Light Utility Helicopter.

Next, Liebherr is pleased to be provided with this additional opportunity, through the LUH program, to increase its contribution to the success of HAL’s family of products. HAL and Liebherr have been cooperating over decades on numerous programs such as for example the Do 228, the Advanced Light Helicopter and Tejas.

The LUH is an Indian indigenous multi-mission helicopter, which is currently in the development phase. HAL plans to deliver the first LUH to the Armed Forces by August 2022.
