JULY 2021 TRAFFIC AND CO2 EMISSION STATISTICS
WIZZ AIR CARRIED 2,956,000 PASSENGERS
Geneva, 3 August 2021: Wizz Air Holdings Plc (“Wizz Air”), the fastest-growing European airline, today announces passenger and CO2 emission statistics for July 2021.
In July 2021, Wizz Air carried 2,956,000 passengers at a load factor of 79%. Wizz Air continued to grow its network and improve its customer offering as follows:
• Wizz Air officially opened its Rome Fiumicino base in Italy. The airline commenced the operations with four Airbus A321 aircraft, providing 32 new services from country’s largest aviation market;
• Wizz Air continuously operates amongst the lowest CO2 emissions per passenger/km amongst all competitor airlines, with 72 grams per passenger/km for the rolling 12 months to 31 July 2021. For the month of July, emissions in grams per passenger/km were 20.3% lower compared to same month last year, as we witness an improvement in load factors over same time.
