European Commission Officially Approves State Aid for Corsair (23 December 2025)

Today, on 23 December 2025, the European Commission has officially validated the state aid granted to Corsair through a press release / decision published as part of its State Aid review. The Commission confirmed that the total financial support amounts to €167.8 million, including an €80 million debt write‑off and €87.8 million of additional funding, aimed at supporting the airline’s restructuring and ensuring its long‑term viability. The Commission also imposed conditions to limit distortions of competition, such as operational adjustments and limits on capacity in certain markets. This decision marks a key milestone in Corsair’s recovery plan and underscores the EU’s commitment to supporting strategic players in the aviation sector while maintaining fair competition within the Single Market.
