De Havilland Canada

CALGARY, Alberta, March 10, 2026 – De Havilland Aircraft of Canada (De Havilland Canada) provides an update on the progress of its De Havilland Canadair 515 (DHC-515) aircraft production, currently underway at its Canadian facilities.

De Havilland Canada is currently producing 22 aircraft destined for European customers, including in Croatia, Spain, Italy, Greece, Portugal, and France, and has recently signed contracts with the Canadian provinces of Manitoba, Ontario, and Alberta. These orders highlight the strong demand, both in Canada and internationally, for the world’s only amphibious aircraft specifically designed for firefighting.

Production of the first DHC-515 continues, with structures currently being assembled in the company’s Canadian manufacturing facilities. The cockpit and fuselage were recently assembled on the aerostructures assembly line in Calgary to form the forward fuselage of the aircraft. In addition, the assembly of the first wing box of the DHC-515 has just been completed; this is an impressive structure measuring 28.6 meters in length.

De Havilland Canada has also released a new video (https://vimeo.com/1167448206) highlighting the manufacturing and assembly activities taking place at its Canadian facilities. The video offers a behind-the-scenes look at production, showcasing progress, precision, and team involvement. From key assembly stages to highly skilled specialists supporting operations, the footage demonstrates the current momentum and the ongoing commitment to excellence across all DHC sites in Canada.
