ANDORRA AVIATION ACADEMY CHOOSES THE ELIXIR TO LAUNCH ITS AIR OPERATIONS

Elixir Aircraft

(English translation from a French press release)

Elixir Aircraft, February 20, 2026 – At the opening of the Pilot Expo in Brussels, Elixir Aircraft announced an order from Andorra Aviation Academy. An Elixir aircraft will be delivered in summer 2026 to this rapidly growing theoretical training center in the Pyrenees region, which will launch its practical flight training program at Andorra–La Seu d’Urgell Airport.

1. Official Order

On Friday, February 20, 2026, during the Pilot Expo in Brussels, Elixir Aircraft and Andorra Aviation Academy formalized the sale contract for an Elixir aircraft to be delivered in summer 2026.

This order is part of the development of Andorra Aviation Academy, a training center headquartered in Andorra la Vella. The academy chose the Elixir to launch its air operations and develop its new practical flight training program.

The school was impressed by the performance and innovative design of this 4th-generation aircraft, based on all-carbon technology inspired by racing yachts, offering both lightness and strength as a training tool meeting the demands of airline pilot education.

“We chose the Elixir as our school’s first aircraft because its safety, innovative design, and operational efficiency perfectly match our vision of providing aviation training that meets the highest quality and safety standards,” said Francesc Mora, President of Andorra Aviation Academy.

“We are very pleased with the trust placed in Elixir Aircraft by Andorra Aviation Academy. We sincerely thank them for choosing the Elixir as their launch aircraft and look forward to supporting its integration into the fleet and the development of this rapidly expanding academy,” responded Arthur Léopold-Léger, President and Co-founder of Elixir Aircraft.

2. About Elixir Aircraft

Elixir Aircraft is a French aerospace manufacturer founded in 2015 to meet the challenges of global light aviation. Based in La Rochelle, it employs more than 200 people. Elixir Aircraft designs and builds a two-seat 4th-generation aircraft certified EASA CS-23 since 2020 and FAA Part 23 since July 2025.

The Elixir uses technology derived from competitive sailing, known as Carbon OneShot (single-piece construction), to simplify structures, improve safety, reduce maintenance, and lower costs (USD 50/hour for fuel and maintenance).

Fifty Elixir aircraft are currently in operation, and more than 300 units are on order (firm orders, pre-orders, and letters of intent). In June 2023, the French President announced a €13 million subsidy for Elixir Aircraft. In early 2024, Elixir Aircraft announced the closure of funding for its development over the next five years with a €40 million budget.

In June 2025, Elixir Aircraft was selected by ENAC, the French Civil Aviation University, to renew its fleet of VFR aircraft. Elixir Aircraft is preparing to open a new 15,000 m² factory in La Rochelle and a reassembly facility in Sarasota, Florida.

3. About Andorra Aviation Academy

Andorra Aviation Academy is an EASA-approved training organization (EASA.ATO.0033), founded in 2015 and headquartered in Andorra la Vella. It offers high-quality pilot training, with safety as the top priority, beginning with a comprehensive remote learning program for ATPL theory.

The academy is working on opening a practical training base at Andorra–La Seu d’Urgell Airport (LESU) by September 2026. Initial flight operations will use the Elixir for ab initio training and the Cirrus SR20 G7+ for more advanced phases, reflecting a commitment to using modern aircraft with strong safety features.

Starting September 2026, through a partnership with the Institut Aéronautique Amaury de la Grange (IAAG) in Paris, the academy will also offer a hybrid ATPL theory course delivered on-site at IAAG’s Paris facilities.
