1. Revenue decline despite strategic repositioning

For fiscal year 2025, Surf Air Mobility reported revenue of $106.6 million, down 10.8% from $119.4 million in 2024.

This decline highlights a key challenge: while the company is restructuring its regional airline operations and investing in software platforms (notably SurfOS), the transition is temporarily reducing top-line performance.

Management has intentionally exited unprofitable routes and activities, which may improve long-term margins but currently reduces revenue scale.

Takeaway:
The company is sacrificing short-term growth in order to reposition itself as a technology-enabled regional air mobility platform, but the market has yet to see clear revenue acceleration from this strategy.

2. Persistent losses and fragile profitability

Despite operational improvements, the company remains far from profitability.

Key figures for 2025:

  • Net loss: about $110.5 million
  • Adjusted EBITDA loss: $41.7 million

While adjusted EBITDA losses have improved compared with earlier years, the scale of the losses remains significant relative to revenue.

This raises two concerns:

  1. High structural costs for operating a regional airline network.
  2. Heavy investment in technology development (SurfOS platform).

Takeaway:
Surf Air Mobility is still in a capital-intensive phase, where profitability depends heavily on future growth of software and platform revenues.

3. Mixed operational performance in Q4

For the fourth quarter of 2025:

  • Revenue: $26.4 million, down 6% year-over-year.
  • Adjusted EBITDA loss: just under $8 million.

Although these figures were within the company’s own guidance, they still reflect a weak growth dynamic.

Quarterly revenue came in far below earlier expectations, suggesting that the company’s growth trajectory remains uncertain.

Takeaway:

Operational performance is stabilizing but not yet demonstrating strong growth momentum.

4. Balance sheet improvement but continued financial pressure

One positive element is the improvement in financial structure:

  • Net debt decreased by about 47%, reaching roughly $74 million.

This reduction suggests that the company has made progress in restructuring its finances and controlling leverage.

However, given the scale of operating losses, Surf Air Mobility will likely need continued access to capital markets or strategic partnerships to fund its expansion.

5. A risky but potentially transformative strategy

The company’s strategy is based on three pillars:

1.     Regional airline operations

2.     On-demand charter services

3.     Software platform (SurfOS)

The idea is to transform Surf Air into a technology platform for regional aviation, potentially similar to what software platforms did in logistics or ride-sharing.

If successful, this could significantly increase margins. But execution risk remains high.

6. Outlook: optimistic guidance but execution risk

The company forecasts 20–30% revenue growth in 2026, targeting $128–138 million in revenue.

However, management also expects continued EBITDA losses, indicating that profitability is still several years away.

Conclusion:
Surf Air Mobility is in a typical high-risk strategic transition phase:

·        a potentially disruptive technological vision,

·        but a still fragile financial situation.
