Tel Aviv / December 18, 2025 — AIR, an advanced air mobility developer based in Israel, has unveiled and delivered the first production-ready Air One Cargo electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft, marking a major milestone in the shift from prototype development to commercial manufacturing and deployment.
The aircraft was revealed on December 17, 2025, and has been handed over to an undisclosed launch customer. Before entering full operational service, the company plans to conduct final test flights at a dedicated airfield in southern Israel.
From Prototype to Production
The Air One Cargo eVTOL represents years of engineering refinement by AIR engineers and collaborators. Designed as an uncrewed heavy-lift logistics platform, it is capable of vertical take-offs and landings and supports missions in cargo transport, defense logistics, and humanitarian supply chains.
According to company statements, the production variant includes:
- Enhanced cargo capacity with streamlined airframe design
- Improved battery systems and advanced electrical and avionics architecture
- Features for remote operations including redundant communications and navigation systems
- A payload capacity of roughly 550 pounds (≈250 kg) with an approximate one-hour flight endurance per charge
The Air One platform also exists in a piloted two-seat variant, which is advancing toward certification and commercial release alongside the cargo version.
Manufacturing and Deployment Plans
The production facility, located in central Israel, is designed to support multiple aircraft builds simultaneously and accelerate delivery timelines as demand grows. AIR anticipates additional production deliveries throughout 2026, with successive aircraft heading to demonstration and certification locations in the United States.
“This production model represents years of engineering refinement and collaboration with industry leaders, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies,” said Rani Plaut, co-founder and CEO of AIR. “We’ve moved beyond proof of concept to proven performance and commercial deployment.” AIR’s strategic focus on both cargo and piloted eVTOLs aligns with broader advances in Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) — a rapidly developing segment of the aviation industry aimed at transforming how people and goods move at lower altitudes with reduced emissions.
