Comprehensive projections reveal trends and business opportunities in the Commercial Aviation, Military, Business Aviation and Helicopter sectors

NEW YORK, Oct. 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ — Penton‘s Aviation Week Network, the largest information provider for the global aviation, aerospace and defense industry, has released its 2017 Fleet & MRO Forecasts. The 2017 Fleet & MRO Forecasts provide in-depth analysis in four sectors: Commercial Aviation, Military, Business Aviation and Helicopter across numerous geographical regions including Africa, Asia-Pacific, China, Eastern Europe, India, Latin America, Middle East, North America, and Western Europe.

Aviation Week’s 2017 Fleet & MRO Forecasts assist industry professionals in discovering new business opportunities for MRO services by aircraft model, aircraft type, world region, and more. They also offer insight into fleet retirements and additions, changes to the overall fleet makeup, and insight into how today’s actions and activities will impact the demand for future maintenance services.

The 2017 Fleet & MRO Forecasts are based on unbiased data and predictive intelligence gathered by Aviation Week Network’s data and analytical team. These experts ? along with advisory boards ? provide forecasts that include fleet size projections through 2026 and MRO demand growth rates worldwide, by global region and aircraft type.

“The 2017 forecast products not only include totally revamped aircraft fleet and MRO cost expectations across nine distinct geographic regions, but also include a brand new online interface to help users easily spot trends and business opportunities. Through customizable filters, users can readily see the future markets through the lens of their choice or explore potentially new market opportunities,” said Brian Kough, Director, Forecasts & Aerospace Insights, Aviation Week Intelligence Network.

Among the findings within the forecasts are:

  • There will be strong growth of the Western-built airline fleet ? an increase of 3.7% over the next decade ? with the Asia Pacific region leading the world in commercial aircraft deliveries by retail value
  • Over the next decade, the business fleet is expected to grow at a rate of 1.6%, from almost 31,900 aircraft in 2017 to 36,700 aircraft in 2026
  • Helicopters will generate $76 billion in MRO demand, 40% of which is attributable to Component MRO
  • Military aircraft will generate almost $800 billion in MRO demand over the next decade

New features for 2017 include a fresh, intuitive user interface with improved navigation, an enhanced ability to export charts and graphs, headline reports which provide an overview of events to come, an Eastern Europe regional Helicopter forecast, and a Regional Fleet tab enabling comparison by aircraft and MRO demand.
