11th SPACE, BUSINESS & LAW CONFERENCE

Sustainability for Space, Sustainability in Space, Sustainability from Space

OBJECTIVE OF THE CONFERENCE

Organized by the SIRIUS Chair, the conference aims at discussing recent, original and unpublished contributions to the understanding of current space business and law issues and their consequences for modern economies and societies.

This year’s theme is Sustainability for Space, in Space and from Space. 6 prospective themes have been selected (please see the attached proposed program), each of which will be addressed by two speakers lasting no more than 20 minutes and followed by Q&A.

The conference will feature theoretical, experimental and/or policy oriented contributions. We especially encourage the submission of state-of-the-art research papers and papers from scholars and PhD students in law, political science, management and economics.

THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE is composed of Lucien Rapp (University Toulouse-Capitole), Victor Dos Santos Paulino (TBS Education), Cedric Balty (Thales Alenia Space), Laurent Deroin (CNES) and Gilbert Griseri (Airbus Defence and Space). PROSPECTIVE PARTICIPANTS are invited to pre-register and/or submit papers by e-mail to lucien.rapp@ut-capitole.fr

Papers should be received by 24 May, 2024 (abstracts will be considered, but papers are more likely to be accepted). A decision will be taken on 3 June, 2024.

REGISTRATION FEES AND TRAVEL EXPENSES

Registration fee waived for speakers and discussants, special rates for certain other attendees.

Travel to Toulouse based on economy class, accommodation and local expenses in Toulouse will be provided for speakers. For further information, please contact the conference secretary at marie.merli@ut- capitole.fr.

PROCEEDINGS

Contributions will be compiled for publication in the Conference proceedings which will be widely distributed as part of a new collection launched last May by the SIRIUS Chair.
