Czech Airlines Technics to Provide Base Maintenance of Finnair Fleet for Next Three Years

Czech Airlines Technics to Provide Base Maintenance of Finnair Fleet for Next Three Years

The Czech Airlines Technics (CSAT) long term co-operation with Finnair is to continue. The original three-year Base Maintenance Agreement was extended by another three years thanks to the exercised option. CSAT will thus continue to provide base maintenance checks and repairs for the carrier’s Airbus A320 family narrow-body aircraft fleet in Hangar F at Václav Havel Airport Prague, where one maintenance line is dedicated to Finnair year-round.

“I am pleased that, thanks to the mutual satisfaction of parties, we have extended our co-operation with Finnair by another three years. Finnair is one of our most important customers, and the over ten-year-long co-operation is the best acknowledgement of our work. We have extensive experience with Finnair aircraft as we have already carried out a number of special modifications, including the installation of a wireless internet connection. We are currently providing base maintenance to the entire A320 family fleet, with an overhaul schedule in place until the first quarter of 2024.” Petr Doberský, Chairman of the Czech Airlines Technics Board of Directors, said.

The Base Maintenance Agreement governs the complex performance of all planned checks and repairs.

“We have a long history with CSAT, and we highly value our relationship. The extension of base maintenance agreement ensures the continuation of safe and reliable operations of our narrow-body Airbus fleet. CSAT is a customer-oriented organization with a strong will to develop. Committed people and open dialogue allow us to carry on the fruitful work on continuous improvement initiatives in good cooperation for our mutual benefit”, said Ville Väyrynen, Head of Technical Operations Planning & Base Maintenance at Finnair.

Regular mandatory checks, more demanding repairs, modifications to aircraft systems and structures, cabin modifications, engine exchanges, and exchanges and repairs of landing gear and other aircraft components are a part of aircraft base maintenance services provided. In the 2021/2022 maintenance season, CSAT processed over 86 base maintenance jobs on the B737, B737 MAX, A320 family and A321neo aircraft for all customers. Transavia Airlines, NEOS, Austrian Airlines, Novair, and last but not least, Finnair are among the most important Czech Airlines Technics clients in the base maintenance division.
