BOC Aviation selects Rockwell Collins’ avionics for 74 new 737 MAX aircraft

SINGAPORE (Feb. 6, 2018) – BOC Aviation has selected Rockwell Collins’ advanced avionics, including MultiScan™ ThreatTrack weather radar, GLU-2100 Multi-Mode Receiver (MMR) and Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance (TCAS II) traffic computer TTR-2100, as a baseline configuration on 74 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft that begin delivery later this year. In addition, the contract includes the option for Rockwell Collins Iridium® ICS-300 SATCOM unit, which is the only Iridium SATCOM solution approved for Boeing platforms. This product provides long-range voice and  data link communications that improve operational efficiency.

“After providing BOC Aviation with our proven suite of avionics systems for 33 Next-Generation Boeing 737 aircraft last year, we were honored that they again chose Rockwell Collins for their newest fleet of 737 MAX aircraft,” said Jim Walker, vice president and managing director, Asia Pacific for Rockwell Collins. “This latest commercial contract is among a number of key civil and military projects that allow us to contribute to the region’s ongoing technological growth, as well as providing airlines with the latest flight decks to ensure passenger safety.”

Following the recent acquisition of B/E Aerospace, a world leader in interior cabin products, Rockwell Collins’ presence on the 737 MAX has expanded beyond avionics through its new Interior Systems business to include an integrated aft galley and lavatory complex, lavatory, interior lighting and passenger oxygen systems as standard equipment on every aircraft.  A variety of selectable cabin options such as passenger seating, food and beverage preparation, portable oxygen devices and crew masks are also available.

Featured Rockwell Collins Systems

  • MultiScan ThreatTrack is the latest evolution of Rockwell Collins’ MultiScan weather radar solution, and is the first with fully automatic, “hands-free” operation. ThreatTrack is the only commercial airborne radar offered by Airbus and Boeing and delivers market-first capabilities, including Two-Level Turbulence Detection and Predictive OverFlight™ Protection.
  • TCAS II is Rockwell Collins’ next-generation Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance (TCAS II) traffic computer TTR-2100 system for air transport aircraft. The new system enables NextGen® traffic surveillance in a lighter and more capable unit.
  • GLU-2100 is the industry’s most capable, fully digital, MMR with integrated instrument landing system (ILS), global positioning system (GPS), GPS landing system (GLS) and VHF omni-directional receiver (VOR). With newly developed, patented hardware technology, the GLU-2100 ensures advanced performance and supports all current airspace navigation and landing requirements.
  • In addition, BOC Aviation selected Rockwell Collins’ ADF-900 Automatic Direction Finder, DME-2100 Distance Measuring Equipment, VHF-2100 Transceiver, HFS-900D Radio, TPR-901 Mode S Transponder, and VOR-900 Omnidirectional Radio.
