Spirit Airlines is considering a significant downsizing of its Airbus fleet as part of its ongoing financial restructuring efforts.
According to recent court filings, the U.S. low-cost carrier may reduce its current fleet by almost half in an effort to restore profitability and secure long-term stability.
The company, which currently operates more than 200 Airbus aircraft, intends to terminate a portion of its leasing agreements as part of its cost-optimization plan.
This step follows several months of financial pressure caused by intense competition in the North American market and high operating expenses.
By resizing its fleet and focusing on core routes, Spirit Airlines aims to streamline operations, reduce debt, and strengthen its long-term business outlook
