Skytrans welcomes its first Airbus A319, expanding the fleet and ACMI capabilities

Skytrans, an Australian-based passenger airline, announces the arrival of its first Airbus A319, which marks an important step in the company’s strategic vision to grow its fleet and enhance its ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) services. This new addition will strengthen Skytrans’ ability to provide flexible, reliable, safe, and efficient aviation solutions for passenger, cargo, and business operations across Australia and the Asia-Pacific region.

The Airbus A319 arrived in Brisbane, Australia, from Kaunas, Lithuania, on December 15 after an extensive journey across multiple time zones and three technical stops at the UAE, Sri Lanka, and Bali. The introduction of this A319 is just the beginning of an ambitious Skytrans fleet expansion plan. Several more Airbus aircraft are planned to join the Skytrans fleet this year, increasing our capacity to meet growing market demands.

“The arrival of our first Airbus A319 marks an exciting new chapter for Skytrans. This expansion strengthens our position as a trusted provider of ACMI services and shows that we’re ready to meet a wide variety of clients’ needs. We’re focused on growth, innovation, and maintaining the highest standards of safety and reliability, and we look forward to further augmentation of our fleet,” said Skytrans CEO Alan Milne.

Skytrans joined the world’s largest ACMI provider, Avia Solutions Group, at the beginning of 2024. By expanding into ACMI operations, Skytrans is the first ACMI provider in Australia within the group. As an Australian Air Operator Certificate (AOC) holder, the company solidifies the group’s market position and addresses the challenges of seasonality.

Besides being a global leader in ACMI, Avia Solutions Group offers a wide range of aviation services, including MRO, pilot and crew training, ground handling, and more. With operations in 6 continents and a team of 14,000 skilled aviation professionals, Avia Solutions Group is a major force in the industry.
