Shymkent Airport’s Terminal A Welcomes New SCAT Airlines Boeing 737 MAX

Shymkent, July 23, 2025 — Today, the newest Boeing 737 MAX aircraft operated by SCAT Airlines landed at Shymkent International Airport’s newly inaugurated Terminal A. This event marks a significant milestone in the development of the airport’s infrastructure and reinforces its status as Kazakhstan’s southern aviation hub.

The new airliner arrived in Kazakhstan following an acceptance procedure in the United States and has now joined SCAT Airlines’ modernized fleet. Its arrival is not only a landmark moment for the airline but also a testament to Terminal A’s readiness to accommodate state-of-the-art international-class aircraft.

“Welcoming the new Boeing 737 MAX at our terminal is a clear indicator that we meet all modern technical and operational standards. Shymkent Airport is fully prepared to handle contemporary aircraft while ensuring top-level service quality and safety,” said Vladimir Denisov, President of SCAT Airlines.

The Boeing 737 MAX stands out for its enhanced fuel efficiency, extended range, and a comfortable cabin — making it an ideal choice for both international and regional routes that are rapidly developing from Shymkent.

Background: Terminal A officially opened on December 25, 2024, as a key part of Kazakhstan’s southern air hub modernization. It is capable of serving up to 2 million passengers annually and provides connectivity to destinations across the CIS, Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
