Ontic to open dedicated MRO facility in Tewkesbury

Ontic, a leading global aerospace OEM for established aircraft parts, has announced at MRO Europe the opening of a new Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. The purpose-built site will transform how Ontic supports airlines and operators, delivering faster turnaround times, greater transparency and the confidence of OEM repairs.

At launch, the site will unite Ontic’s 200 MRO specialists – from engineers and technicians to customer service, supply chain and logistics experts – in a single hub with dedicated IT systems. The site is built for growth and the team is set to expand as Ontic expands its offering within the MRO arena.

As the license holder for thousands of product lines, Ontic holds the proprietary data, tooling and test equipment required to repair components to OEM standards. The result is longer-lasting repairs, each backed by a warranty, all delivered at the speed and reliability operators expect.

The facility will open in a phased program beginning in January 2026, with the site planned to be fully operational by Q4 2026. Purpose-built for aerospace, the 64,000sq ft facility includes pneumatic and hydraulic infrastructure, avionics workshop with ISO7 Clean room, non-destructive testing (NDT), a machine shop and a dark room, with significant additional footprint for future expansion as Ontic secures further product licenses.

Brian Sartain, Chief Operating Officer of Ontic, said, “The opening of our Tewkesbury MRO facility marks a step-change in how we support our customers. By consolidating all our UK aftermarket expertise in one dedicated site, we are investing in the people, capability, and infrastructure to consistently deliver a faster, more responsive and more transparent service. Alongside our new Miramar facility in the US, this is a significant milestone in our commitment to keeping established fleets flying safely for decades to come.”

Dave Mayne, MRO Director Europe with Ontic, added, “This is exactly what our customers have been asking for – an OEM repair, consistently delivered within the required turnaround time, and backed by an OEM warranty. With the scale of investment Ontic is making in MRO, this new facility ensures we can deliver on that promise.”

Tewkesbury is part of Ontic’s $30m global investment in MRO facilities, building capacity and capability on both sides of the Atlantic. In the UK, the facility is in the process of securing CAA, EASA, FAA and CAAC approvals – while in the US, Ontic’s Miramar site has recently achieved FAA approvals, underlining the company’s global aftermarket strength.
