Iberia wins the top award for the Best Airline Staff in Europe at the 2024 World Airline Awards
  • The awards, which are referred to by media around the world as “the Oscars of the aviation industry”, recognise service excellence across the entire spectrum of front-line customer service touch points
  • María Jesús López Solás, Commercial, Customers, Network  Development And Alliances Director, has collected the award on behalf of all employees today at the ceremony in London.

Iberia has scooped the top award as the Best Airline Staff Service in Europe at the prestigious 2024 World Airline Awards, held today at the iconic Fairmont Windsor Park, in London. The awards event is hosted by Skytrax, the international air transport rating organisation.

María Jesús López Solás, Commercial, Customer, Network  Development And Alliances Director, said: “It is a true honour to receive this award for excellence in the service we provide. It represents well-deserved recognition for all the people who make up Iberia, especially those who take care of our customers, both on board our planes and at the airport. From those who design our products and improve them every day, to those who work closely with our passengers: passenger cabin crew, pilots, and the ground staff, which is now part of South, the IAG Group’s new handling business.”

The Best Airline Staff Service awards recognise service excellence across the entire spectrum of front-line customer service touch points, for airline staff service in both the airport and onboard flights, covering staff service efficiency, friendliness and service hospitality, language skills and the overall consistency for the airline’s staff.

The 2024 World Airline Awards

The World Airline Awards are wholly independent and impartial, introduced in 1999 to provide a customer satisfaction study that is truly global. Travellers across the world vote in the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to determine the award winners. The awards are referred to by media around the world as “the Oscars of the aviation industry”.

The online customer survey operated from September 2023 to May 2024, together with invitations sent to the previous year’s respondents in the survey database. The customer survey was provided in English, French, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and Chinese.

Over 100 customer nationalities participated in the 2023/2024 survey with 21.42 million eligible entries counted in the results. Survey entries are screened to identify IP and user information, with all duplicate, suspect or ineligible entries deleted. More than 350 airlines are featured in the final Award results.
