On November 10, 2025, Galactic Energy’s Ceres‑1 (also known as Gushenxing‑1) rocket experienced a launch failure at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in China. The rocket successfully lifted off and completed the initial stages of its flight. However, after approximately 510 seconds, the fourth stage engine shut down prematurely, preventing the satellite from reaching its intended orbit.
Galactic Energy acknowledged the failure and stated that a comprehensive investigation is underway to determine the cause and prevent similar issues in future launches.
This incident marks a setback for the Ceres‑1 series, which had previously completed several successful missions. Galactic Energy remains one of the emerging private space companies in China, seeking to expand its presence in the commercial satellite launch market.
