FL Technics Opens New Wheels and Brakes Facility in Bergamo, Italy

FL Technics, a global aviation maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) leader and part of Avia Solutions Group, is expanding its footprint in Europe by opening a new Wheels and Brakes facility in Bergamo, Italy. The new facility has already started the roll-out of operations and is ready to provide a convenient location and high-quality services to airlines in the region. To date, this is the fourth dedicated Wheels and Brakes facility the company has established in Europe.

Strategically located near Milan Bergamo Airport, the new 2041 sq. m. facility will add to the company’s Wheels and Brakes sites in Vilnius, Budapest, and Hanover, which together form a network aimed at providing reliable, regionally accessible MRO services for landing gear components.

“Our investment in Bergamo addresses the growing demand from airlines in Southern and Western Europe, and gets us one step closer to building the largest MRO network on the continent,” said Zilvinas Lapinskas, CEO of FL Technics. “With strong partnerships, a highly skilled workforce, and strategic locations across the continent, this new facility will become a key hub for landing gear components, serving major airlines throughout Europe.”

According to Mr. Lapinskas, geographical proximity to clients is one of the pillars of FL Technics’ Wheels and Brakes strategy. With facilities in Germany, Lithuania, Hungary, and now Italy, the company ensures that support is always close to major aviation hubs. In turn, this allows clients the opportunity to improve turnaround times and simplify logistics both during routine maintenance and in AOG situations. At the same time, close proximity also helps clients reduce emissions, shorten transportation distances, and enjoy a more reliable and cost-effective service.

The new Bergamo facility is expected to grow to nearly 160 skilled professionals, adding to FL Technics’ 3000-strong team worldwide. With this expansion, the company invites airlines and lessors to explore tailored partnership opportunities, and the benefits of dedicated landing gear MRO shops in Southern and Western Europe.

This expansion marks another milestone in FL Technics’ long-term growth strategy and its ongoing mission to provide high-quality and accessible aircraft component support solutions across the world.
