EVERETT, Wash., April 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ — Aviation Technical Services (ATS) today announced that it has been selected to install a Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) on forty-nine Air Canada Airbus narrow body aircraft. Air Canada chose ATS to perform the installation on its A319 and A320 aircraft due to ATS’ past performance in avionics modifications. ATS will begin the TAWS installations this month.

“ATS is pleased that Air Canada recognized our excellent track record in performing turnkey avionics modification programs, and this project fits with our strategic direction to grow our Airbus A320 capabilities,” said Mike Beck, General Manager, Airframe Services. “Because Air Canada is entering into the busy summer travel season, this project requires quick turns for each aircraft. ATS is able to meet the demanding schedule due to investments we’ve made in our award-winning project management system.”

ATS has been recognized as an industry leader for its fleet integration and modification programs. Last year, ATS received Aviation Week’s MRO of the Year award because of its turnkey technical fleet integration service and automated project management software that enables customers to accelerate capacity growth. Through this turnkey technical service, the company has the capabilities to perform avionics modifications at a faster rate to deliver a safe, reliable and high-quality aircraft.

“Air Canada required a MRO with extensive experience in avionics modifications that could do the job efficiently around our peak summer season,” said Richard Steer, VP Air Canada Maintenance and Engineering. “ATS was the clear choice for the project because of their solid reputation with turnkey programs and commitment to quality.”
