GIC International Catering and Cubana become culinary partners

Two weekly flights from Frankfurt to Havana from December – GIC currently produces up to 5,000 meals a day for 21 airlines – Family-owned company from Kelsterbach, Germany, celebrates its 25th anniversary

Beginning December 2025, GIC International Catering (GIC), specialist for bespoke on bord catering at Frankfurt Airport for currently 21 airlines, is expanding its client portfolio adding Cubana de Aviación, the national carrier of Cuba. It will serve two weekly connections between Frankfurt and Havana – Wednesdays (with stopover in Holguín) and Saturdays – with an Airbus A330-200 with 287 seats. This is the only direct connection between Germany and Cuba in winter 2025/2026. Passengers can look forward to freshly prepared and innovative meals on bord such as sous-vide cooked beef short ribs with truffled potato casserole, cod in a walnut mustard crust accompanied by fresh baby vegetables or boletus ravioli served in a creamy pesto sauce.

Göksel Yildirim, CEO of GIC International Catering explains: „For 25 years now, we have been combining highest quality with individual service and are delighted to expand our international network. From December, Cubana passengers can look forward to authentic, freshly prepared menus with a Cuban twist which we will create with attention to detail. Our goal is not to solely deliver a good meal but to create real culinary delight – even in 10,000 meters altitude.“

Into the world from Kelsterbach

The family-owned company with its base in Kelsterbach near Frankfurt Airport is celebrating its 25th anniversary and has been a guarantor for worldclass culinary experiences since then. Today, GIC produces up to 5,000 meals a day for passengers – ranging from international airlines to providers for business jets and private air charters. In addition, the caterer supplies schools with fresh and nutritious meals as well as private events.

With 170 employees, a 2,500 square meter big production site and state-of-the-art logistics, the company prepares culinary delights from gourmet menus for Business Class and VIP guests over warm meals for Economy Class to budget friendly snacks. Also, famous passengers like Naomi Campbell, Beyoncé, Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Saudi royal family have already gotten a taste on bord by GIC.
