Aviator Airport Alliance Extends Contract with Wizz Air at Copenhagen, Gothenburg and Malmö Airports

Aviator Airport Alliance, a full-range provider of aviation services at 15 airports across the Nordics and a member of Avia Solutions Group, the world’s largest ACMI (Aircraft, Crew, Maintenance, and Insurance) provider, has extended its partnership with Wizz Air. Under the renewed agreement, Aviator Airport Alliance will continue to provide passenger, ramp handling, and de-icing services for the upcoming three years. The agreement covers three Northern European airports – Copenhagen Airport (CPH), Gothenburg Landvetter Airport (GOT) and Malmo Airport (MMX).

In Copenhagen, the contract covers flights to destinations including Budapest, Belgrade, Gdańsk, Warsaw, and Bucharest. Across these destinations, Wizz Air operates more than 1,800 flights per year with a fleet consisting of Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft. In Sweden, the extended contract amounts to approximately 1,500 turns per year, which are spread almost evenly between flights operated from Gothenburg and Malmo.

Jo Alex Tanem, CEO of Aviator Airport Alliance, emphasizes that the partnership with Wizz Air originally began in 2015, and the new contracts will extend the partnership to a total of 12 years. This is a testament to the strong relationship that has been built.

“We’re proud of our partnership with Wizz Air, and especially of the fact that it is successfully continuing for a decade, which is a lot in today’s competitive environment. Wizz Air is a significant carrier with 800 routes to nearly 200 destinations in Europe and beyond, and it is a privilege to be a part of their success,” he says.

Grzegorz Michalec, Ground Operations Manager, Wizzair, says that the contract extension reflects the confidence in Aviator’s ability to provide high-quality and timely ground handling and de-icing services.

“Throughout a whole decade of working together, Aviator has shown time and time again their expertise and ability to provide quality services. Modern aviation relies on the quality of all its processes, and our partners have consistently demonstrated their commitment to responsibility and hard work. We have complete trust that our fruitful collaboration will successfully continue for the upcoming three years and beyond,” he says.
