History and Exploration at Boeing

History and Exploration at BoeingHistory and Exploration at Boeing

This week Boeing delivered its first F-15EX Eagle II of the year — and the first aircraft in the U.S. Air Force’s second order. Watch below as the jet departs from Boeing’s production facility in St. Louis and heads for its new home in Oregon.

Why it matters: This delivery marks the first in U.S. Air Force’s second production lot, a contract for 12 F-15EX aircraft, all of which Boeing is scheduled to complete in 2025.

  • The second lot includes all operational jets. Under the first lot, Boeing delivered six aircraft for developmental testing and two for operational use.

Catch up quick: The Air Force has announced plans to purchase 98 F-15EX aircraft, spread over six production lots.

What they’re saying: “The delivery of F-15EX-9 to the Portland Air National Guard is a significant milestone that highlights the hard work and dedication of our employees and represents the latest advancements in technology and capability, enhancing the operational readiness of the Air National Guard,” said Kurt Schroeder, F-15EX program manager.

He continued: “The contributions of our teams have been vital in achieving this success, and their commitment to excellence has ensured that the F-15EX meets the highest standards of performance and reliability. This delivery not only highlights our achievements but also sets the stage for continued innovation and collaboration for our customers.”
