The agreement extends the previous current collective bargaining agreement through December 2014. "We now have ratified agreements with all three of our flight attendant groups represented by the AFA, and this is a positive step forward in bringing together our work groups," said Sam Risoli, senior vice president of Inflight. "We will now turn our attention on working with the AFA on a single contract that is competitive for United and provides additional benefits for our flight attendants." Flight attendants from the company's United subsidiary ratified a new four-year contract in February 2012, and flight attendants from the Continental subsidiary ratified an extension of their collective bargaining agreement last month. The company and the AFA begin negotiations for a joint collective bargaining agreement for all AFA-represented flight attendants on August 27. Since merging with Continental, United has made significant progress in bringing together work groups. To date, United's pilots, flight attendants, technicians, passenger service and fleet service employees determined union representation. The company has reached agreements with flight attendants from the United, Continental and CMI subsidiaries; and technicians from the United, Continental and CMI subsidiaries. Earlier this month, the company reached a tentative agreement with the Air Line Pilots Association for a joint collective bargaining agreement covering pilots.
