Do the Combo Mambo: JetBlue Getaways Customers Can Now Use a Combination of Cash Plus TrueBlue Points Towards Their Next Vacation Package Booking

NEW YORK, Aug. 16, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- JetBlue Getaways (Nasdaq: JBLU), the airline's comprehensive, service-oriented vacation package program, today announced that members of its TrueBlue customer loyalty program can now book Getaways vacations at www.jetblue.com/getaways with a combination of cash plus TrueBlue points (a). The number of points and the dollar amount required for a particular Getaways package will vary, among other things, according to the flight, destination and hotel chosen as well as the travel period.

(Logo: http://photos.prnewswire.com/prnh/20111020/NY90559LOGO ) "We are continuing to enhance our vacation package product to make it even easier to get away on your next vacation," said Grant McCarthy, JetBlue's director of Getaways and ancillary travel. "Now, our customers can reap the rewards of their past JetBlue travels by using a combination of their TrueBlue points and cash. When coupled with our best prices on airfare and exclusive hotel rates, savings on vacations can be significant."

Since 2010, TrueBlue members booking discounted vacation packages, including airfare plus hotel, cars, airport transfers and various activities have been able to earn six TrueBlue points for every eligible dollar spent on their vacation package. Additionally, members paying for their Getaways vacation package with the JetBlue Card from American Express earn two more points per eligible dollar spent, for a grand total of eight points per dollar (b). Now, their points savings can be cashed in towards their next Getaways vacation.

JetBlue's TrueBlue customer loyalty program is based on what customers want: every seat on every flight is available for travel and there are no blackout dates, allowing customers to redeem rewards whenever they want to travel (c). This transparent program is rich and more rewarding for members, who can earn one-way Award Flights starting at just 5,000 points and $2.50 taxes and fees (d).

TrueBlue points will not expire as long as a member earns points from traveling on at least one paid JetBlue flight or makes a qualifying purchase with a JetBlue Card from American Express within 12 months of their last TrueBlue transaction (either a qualifying flight or JetBlue Card transaction). To enroll in TrueBlue or to learn more about the program, visit www.jetblue.com/trueblue.

Earlier this year, JetBlue also announced that customers reserving Getaways vacation packages between June 25 and December 31, 2012 are also entitled to yet another perk: a one-time waiver of the JetBlue $100 per person change fee on the first change made to a Getaways package booking (e).

Customers that book a JetBlue Getaways vacation package will also enjoy the airline's award-winning customer service and product, including a live in-flight entertainment system with more than 140 channels of free programming on personal seatback TVs and reasonably priced first-run JetBlue Features movies from major Hollywood studios for only $6.00 (f). Customers also enjoy comfy leather seats with the most legroom in coach of any U.S. carrier (g) and unlimited complimentary snacks and drinks for the ride.

About JetBlue Getaways JetBlue Getaways offers vacation packages across 71 destinations throughout the U.S., Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean. JetBlue Getaways offers a Best Price Guarantee with exclusive rates and savings on vacation packages including air, hotel and more. Customers enjoy access to Concierge On Call, the airline's around-the-clock vacation assistance line to answer questions, resolve issues and make recommendations, dinner reservations, tee times and more. The airline also maintains an exclusive 24-hour support desk dedicated to assisting Getaways customers with flight, hotel, or car reservation questions before, during and after their trip by calling 1-800-JET-BLUE (538-2583), option 3. More information can be found at www.jetblue.com/getaways.

About JetBlue Airways JetBlue is New York's Hometown Airline(TM) with other focus cities in Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Los Angeles, Orlando and San Juan. Known for its award-winning service and free TV as much as its low fares, JetBlue offers the most legroom in coach of any U.S. airline (based on average fleet-wide seat pitch) as well as super-spacious Even More Space seats. JetBlue is also America's first and only airline to offer its own Customer Bill of Rights, with meaningful and specific compensation for customers inconvenienced by service disruptions within JetBlue's control. Visit www.jetblue.com/promise for details. JetBlue serves 71 cities with 800 daily flights and plans to launch service to Providence, Rhode Island, as well as Cartagena, Colombia; Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands; and Samana, Dominican Republic this November, subject to receipt of government approval. With JetBlue, all seats are assigned, all fares are one-way, and an overnight stay is never required. For information or reservations call 1-800-JET-BLUE (1-800-538-2583), TTY/TDD 1-800-336-5530, or visit www.jetblue.com.

(a) The number of points and the dollar amount required for a particular Getaways package is based the price of the package at time of booking, which depends on, among other things, the flight, destination and hotel chosen and the applicability of peak travel periods. The amount of points and the amount of the monetary payment required for a particular package may not be changed or re-allocated in any way. Points towards a Getaways purchase must be from one TrueBlue member's account; points may not be combined from multiple TrueBlue accounts. TrueBlue Program Terms and Conditions and Getaways Terms and Conditions apply.

(b) TrueBlue Members will earn six (6) TrueBlue points per dollar spent on their individual per-person portion of a JetBlue Getaways vacation package. Points will be earned on the base price (air + hotel) of the package and on the base price of any car rental and activities purchased at the time of booking. Points will not be earned on government taxes/fees, travel insurance, or other fees or charges (e.g., change/cancel fees, activities added after booking, food, airport transfers, etc.) Additional restrictions apply. See TrueBlue Program Terms and Conditions for details. TrueBlue members who make their JetBlue purchase with a JetBlue Card from American Express can earn an additional two (2) TrueBlue Points per eligible dollar spent. You will accrue one (1) TrueBlue Point for each U.S. dollar of eligible purchases on your JetBlue Card account. Cash and cash equivalent transactions and purchases (including balance transfers, convenience checks, and cash advances), finance charges, fees, and purchase credit adjustments do not earn TrueBlue Points. Every TrueBlue Point earned will be transferred to JetBlue as one (1) TrueBlue Point. You will accrue one (1) bonus TrueBlue Point (for a total of (2) TrueBlue Points) for each U.S. dollar of eligible purchases charged on your Card account for JetBlue flights, purchases at restaurants and movie theaters, purchases of gym memberships, tickets for sporting events or performing arts events sold by the event venue, theater, or authorized agent, and greens fees at golf courses directly billed as such. Please see your current Cardmember TrueBlue Point Agreement for full terms and conditions. All TrueBlue Points are subject to the JetBlue TrueBlue program Terms and Conditions. Customer is responsible for any government taxes and fees that may apply to Award Travel. The expiration date of all TrueBlue Points in your TrueBlue Program account will be extended to be 1 year from any date you have a TrueBlue Point credited to your TrueBlue Program account if you engage in one of the following activities: (1) Using your JetBlue Card account for eligible purchases or (2) flying on a JetBlue flight. Eligibility and timing are based upon the date the TrueBlue Point is credited to your TrueBlue Program account from one of the above qualifying activities.

(c) All seats on JetBlue flights are available for booking using TrueBlue points. Even More Space seats are also available for the standard extra fee. No blackout dates apply to JetBlue-operated flights only. Blackout dates apply to code share and interline flights.

(d) Certain flights require more points and higher government taxes/fees to redeem award travel. The number of points required for a particular flight is based on the published base fare at the time of booking, which depends on, among other things, the flight chosen and applicability of peak travel periods. Taxes and fees apply to award flights, are the responsibility of the passenger, and will vary based on your departure and destination cities. For domestic award flights, taxes/fees range from $2.50-$5.00 for one-way and $5.00-$10.00 for roundtrip flights. For international award flights, taxes/fees range from $2.50-$82.10 for one-way and $22.34-$102.10 for roundtrip flights. Award flight fares also do not include fees for oversized/overweight/extra baggage and other fees for products/services sold separately. Taxes and fees must be paid at time of award flight booking and are subject to change as required by law.

(e) JetBlue will waive the JetBlue $100 per person change fee one time for the first change to a Getaways vacation package booking. New bookings only. Hotel and other travel supplier change fees may still apply. Fee waiver not valid for cancellations. Additional restrictions apply. See Getaways Terms and Conditions for details.

(f) Live satellite TV and radio programming is not available on flights outside the continental U.S.

(g) JetBlue offers the most legroom in coach, based on average fleet-wide seat pitch for U.S. airlines.
