Encouraging mid-year results During the first semester 2012, Aerolia delivered more than 300 nose sections and forward fuselage sections to Airbus for their A318 / 319 / 320 / 321, A330 / 340, A350 XWB, A380 and A400M aircraft families. During this period, Aerolia also kept on working on Bombardier's Global 7 000 and 8 000 programme development, with a major milestone by the end of June in Montréal: the centre fuselage section assembly successfully passed the Intermediate Design Review (IDR). This increased workload for Aerolia for both series and development products, associated with the development of its service activities, has generated a turnover of € 488 m by the end of June, up 14% compared to the same period last year. This turnover is 31% higher than the first half of 2010. Announcements and developments During the first semester 2012, several announcements have paved the way to the strategy deployment of the French aerostructures leader, world leader and tomorrow in the Top 3 of aerostructures in the world. "After the investments made on three sites in France and Tunisia, our facilities in St Nazaire will soon benefit from major changes illustrating our ambitions," said Christian Cornille, CEO of Aeolia SAS. "100 million Euros will be invested over the next 5 years. This effort will concern half the surface of the facilities where the Bombardier Global 7000 and 8000 programme sub-assemblies will be assembled." On 28 June, Aerolia recently announced it has chosen the Province of Québec for its new assembly plant where the centre fuselage of the Global 7000 and 8000 aircraft will be assembled. As from mid-2013, these facilities will host all Aerolia Design Office and teams working on “plateau” for this programme in Montréal. 1/2 Positions are open and jobs available To support its increasing workload, Aerolia is involved in a recruitment campaign targeting Engineering, Manufacturing and Services. 􀂾 Aerolia will recruit both in France, seeking 200 new staff by the end of this year, 􀂾 and in Canada, in its new plant dedicated to Bombardier's Global 7 000 and 8 000 programmes.
