AirAsia Flight Bookings Made Easy with New

AirAsia Flight Bookings Made Easy with New Google Chrome App

SEPANG, 5 JULY 2012 – Google Chrome users now have another option of booking their AirAsia flights via the newly launched AirAsia for Chrome Application (app). The new app which was launched recently now allows guests to book their AirAsia flights directly through their Google Chrome web browser (https://chrome.airasia.com/#destination).

To book flights, guests will only need to go through four simple steps: Choosing destination and dates of travel; deciding on add-ons such as baggage allocation and meals; filling in their personal details; and finally proceeding to make their payment via credit card. With a search selection, large result displays and concise price summaries, AirAsia guests now have an easier and faster way to book their flights.

Apart from this simplified booking process, the AirAsia for Chrome app also features the Discover button where guests can search for available flight options based on the their budget. Powered by Singapore-based company, Flocations, the Discover button asks travelers to key in their travel dates and destination. Then, using the price slider, guests can see on the map all regional destinations they can fly to that are within their selected budget. By simply clicking on their chosen destination, they can proceed with their flight booking.

AirAsia Group Head of Commercial, Kathleen Tan said, “AirAsia has always been at the forefront of innovation and we strive to provide further improvements in order to boost the quality of our services. With the Google Chrome app, we are providing another platform and make it easier for our guests to book their AirAsia flights.”

The AirAsia for Chrome app has received over 10,000 downloads since it was launched in mid-May 2012.

“About 20% of our guests use Google Chrome to visit our website and we see this as a great way to cater to this crowd. Moving forward, we are planning to add more features to the app so guests can log in with their AirAsia account, make payments with the BIG prepaid Visa loyalty cards among others.”

Finally, for those who love the Angry Birds game, the AirAsia for Chrome app provides a direct link to the latest installment of the popular game; Angry Birds Heikki. Dedicated to F1 driver Heikki Kovalainen who drives for the airline’s official partner Caterham F1 Team, the games allows players to launch birds with a slingshot and shoot at pigs to score points.

AirAsia app is available for download at the Chrome Web Store (https://chrome.google.com/webstore). Once the app is installed, guests can proceed to book their flights with just four simple steps.
