Eurocopter récompense Bruno Decelle, pilote d’hélicoptère chez RTE, pour ses 22 000 heures de vol sur Ecureuil
A l’occasion du Salon International de l’Air et de l’Espace, au Bourget, Eurocopter a remis aujourd’hui à Bruno Decelle, pilote d’hélicoptère chez RTE, le prix « Awards Eurocopter » pour ses 22 000 heures de vol sur Ecureuil.
Bruno Decelle fait partie des pilotes ayant le plus d’heures de vol sur hélicoptère au monde. Il comptabilise aujourd’hui à son actif plus de 26 500 heures sur hélicoptère, dont 22 000 sur Ecureuil. Il effectue en moyenne plus de 800 heures de vol par an.
Formé au pilotage des hélicoptères dans l’aviation légère de l’armée de terre, Bruno Decelle rejoint le service des travaux héliportés de RTE en 1981. Il vole pour inspecter les lignes électriques à haute et très haute tension et détecter tous les défauts potentiels du réseau de transport d’électricité. Il amène également les hommes et le matériel nécessaires au plus près des chantiers de réparation. Il intervient particulièrement à partir du moment où l’accès est difficile, notamment en montagne.
Les hélicoptères sont utilisés par RTE pour les visites d’entretien et de réparation des 100 000 kilomètres de lignes électriques à haute et très haute tension. Le service des travaux héliportés de RTE comprend 120 collaborateurs dont treize pilotes, treize mécaniciens, ainsi que des ingénieurs-experts, des chefs de chantier et des lignards habilités aux travaux aériens sous tension.

L’EJBRT (EU-Japan Business Round Table) a élu Jean-Yves Le Gall, Président Directeur Général d’Arianespace, co-président de la Table Ronde des Industriels Union Européenne Japon, lors de sa réunion annuelle qui a eu lieu à Bruxelles les 6 et 7 juillet 2009.
L’EU-Japan Business Round Table a été créée en 1995 dans le but de favoriser le dialogue entre les industriels japonais et européens. Son objectif principal est de faire des recommandations à la Commission Européenne, aux gouvernements des Etats membres de l'Union Européenne et au Gouvernement japonais pour développer le commerce, l'investissement et la coopération industrielle entre l’Europe et le Japon, en améliorant l'accès aux marchés réciproques et l'environnement réglementaire dans les deux régions. Les recommandations portent également sur des questions globales d'intérêt commun (standards industriels, OMC, changement climatique, etc.).
Jean-Yves Le Gall est membre de la Table Ronde depuis quatre ans et le mandat qui lui est confié a une durée de deux ans, renouvelable une fois. Jean-Yves Le Gall assumera cette co-présidence avec Tadashi Okamura, Président de Toshiba Corporation.
A l’issue de cette élection, Jean-Yves Le Gall a déclaré : "Je suis très honoré par cette distinction qui témoigne de l’intensité des relations de confiance mutuelle qui existent entre l’industrie spatiale japonaise et l’industrie spatiale européenne. The Board of Directors has decided to implement a new compliance organization for the EADS Group.
Pedro Montoya (45) has been appointed Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), effective immediately.
Pedro Montoya is in charge of setting up and managing the newly created corporate compliance office. He is responsible for structuring and implementing a re-designed EADS Ethics and Compliance Programme.
The CCO reports to the Chief Executive Officer and has direct access to the EADS Board and Audit Committee. The organization’s mission is to ensure that the group conducts its business in compliance with relevant Laws and best practices endorsed by the Group. Beyond that, it is one of EADS’s responses to the growing societal demand for ethical and responsible corporate behavior.
A senior international company lawyer, Montoya was between 1986 and 1990 Legal Counsel in Procter & Gamble España, SA. In 1990, he joined the Spanish Aerospace CASA group where he became General Counsel and Company Secretary. In 2000, he joined the EADS Group as VP Head of Contracts, Litigation and Intellectual Property. Le Prix Nobel de Physique 2007 vient d'être décerné à Albert Fert, professeur à l'Université Paris-Sud 11, directeur scientifique au sein de l'Unité mixte de physique CNRS/Thales.
Albert Fert est né le 7 mars 1938 à Carcassonne. Il est diplômé de l'Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris et docteur ès sciences physiques. De 1962 à 1976, Albert Fert est maître-assistant à l'Université de Grenoble, puis à l'Université Paris-sud 11. En 1976 il est nommé professeur à l'Université de Paris-sud 11. De 1970 à 1995, Albert Fert est responsable d'un groupe de recherche au Laboratoire de physique des solides à la faculté des sciences d'Orsay avant d'être un des fondateurs en 1995 de l'Unité mixte de physique CNRS/Thales. Il est membre de l'Académie des Sciences.

Karen Evensen, the Vice President of Engineering for EADS North America Defense Test and Services, was named the 2007 Outstanding Woman in Technology by the California Orange County and Inland Empire Council of AeA, the largest high-technology trade association in the United States.
Evensen is responsible for coordinating the activities of over 140 engineers in multidisciplinary teams at EADS North America Defense Test and Services’ headquarters in Irvine, California and at multiple locations nationwide.
“Karen’s considerable skills and continued dedication to customer expectations and technical integrity have made her one of the key factors in the company’s success,” said David R. Oliver, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of EADS North America Defense. “It is appropriate that her excellence has been acknowledged by AeA.”
In discussing her approach to technology, innovation, and teamwork, Evensen commented, “You need to find what unique passions and interests lie within your team and put them to work. It’s equally important that you embrace diversity in your teams – having different points of view will lead to opportunities not originally envisioned by the team and result in even more creative ideas. The National Management Association (NMA) recently recognized Lockheed Martin executive Orlando Carvalho, of Newtown, PA, and the Lockheed Martin Leadership Association Chapter 611 with three awards for outstanding management practices. Carvalho, who is the vice president and general manager of Lockheed Martin's business in Moorestown, NJ, received the NMA's "Silver Knight Award," which is presented to a business leader who sets the example for leadership and management excellence. At Lockheed Martin, Carvalho is responsible for the leadership of 5,000 employees engaged in engineering, software development and advanced technology manufacturing for critical programs supporting the U.S. Navy, U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Missile Defense Agency, and several allied navies. LOCKHEED MARTIN'S ROBERT DROLET RECEIVES MEDARIS AWARD FROM NDIA TENNESSEE VALLEY CHAPTER
HUNTSVILLE, ALA,May 9, 2006
Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) executive Robert A. Drolet has received the 2006 Medaris Award, the highest recognition bestowed by the Tennessee Valley Chapter of the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA). During a May 4 ceremony in Huntsville, Ala., the award was presented to Drolet for his significant contributions to the technical progress of the defense industrial base in support of the defense preparedness of the United States.
"This award is a tribute to the talented Lockheed Martin team and to the dedication of our team to delivering systems that support the needs of our nation's war fighters," said Drolet, who is director of Lockheed Martin Huntsville Operations and a retired brigadier general.
"While Brig. Gen. Drolet credits the countless individuals on his teams both at Lockheed Martin and in the Army, the results of those efforts are a direct reflection of his individual leadership and exceptional talents," said James D. Pepper, Jr., president, NDIA Tennessee Valley Chapter. "His record speaks for itself, and we are proud to acknowledge his personal achievements. Brig. Gen. Drolet epitomizes the purpose of the General John B. Medaris Award and represents a distinguished group of individuals who have made a direct impact on the defense preparedness of our great nation."
Lockheed Martin Huntsville Operations, which performs program management and engineering for key missile defense contracts, is the site of the Battle Management Center of Excellence for the Lockheed Martin Corporation. Under Drolet's leadership since 1992, the Huntsville facility has grown from 100 to more than 500 employees and from three to eight buildings, with two more now under construction. During this time, the facility has achieved ISO certification from the International Organization for Standardization, AS9100 (aerospace standard) certification and the Software Engineering Institute's Capability Maturity Model(R) Integration (CMMI(R)) Maturity Level 3 certification. It also was recognized with the U.S. Department of Defense's James S. Cogswell Outstanding Industrial Security Achievement Award in 2000.
Drolet joined Lockheed Martin after retiring from the U.S. Army. He was the program executive officer for Army Air Defense and held various commands and staff positions, including Pentagon assignments and tours in Germany and Vietnam. He received the Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Air Medals and the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Bronze Star. In recognition of his distinguished military career, Drolet was inducted into the Madison County Military Heritage Commission Hall of Heroes in 1997.
In 2001, he received the Distinguished Leadership Award from the Huntsville-Madison County Leadership Program for his contributions to community organizations, such as the Boy Scouts of America, the Rotary Club of Huntsville and the Madison County Veteran's Memorial Foundation. Drolet is the Alabama state president of the Association of the U.S. Army and a member of the board of governors for the Heritage Club, and was a commissioner for the Alabama State Commission on Manufacturing from 2003 to 2005.
Drolet holds an M.S. degree from Shippensburg University in Shippensburg, Pa., and a B.A. degree from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Mass.
The NDIA Tennessee Valley Chapter established the annual Medaris Award in 1981 in honor of Major Gen. John B. Medaris, the first commanding general of the U.S. Army Ballistic Missile Agency at Redstone Arsenal, Ala., commanding general of the U.S. Army Ordnance Missile Command and a leader in Army space exploration. The names of all annual award recipients are displayed at Aviation and Missile Command Headquarters, at Redstone Arsenal. Drolet is the 22nd Medaris Award recipient.

The Supervisory Board of Austrian Airlines decided in its meeting of 27 February 2006 after a proposal of the Austrian Management Board, to award Franz Zoechbauer, Vice President Austrian Cargo, full power of attorney.
Franz Zoechbauer started his carreer at Austrian Airlines 30 years ago in the market research department. 1986 he was appointed “Head of Commercial Planning“, in 1989 he took over responsibility for “Marketing overseas”. Further steps in his carreer have been in 1994 “Vice President Business System” and in 1996 “Executive Vice President Airline Co-operations”. Between 1997 and 2000 he has been the Representative of Austrian Airlines in North America. In September 2000 he was promoted as Vice President Austrian Cargo.

François Goulard, Ministre délégué à l’Enseignement supérieur et à la Recherche, et Noël Forgeard, Président exécutif d’EADS ont remis, mercredi 30 novembre 2005, le Prix Irène Joliot-Curie.
Les lauréats 2005 sont :
- Rose DIENG-KUNTZ pour le Prix de la scientifique de l’année.
Ce prix distingue une femme qui s’est affirmée par son parcours et sa contribution à la science.
- Béatrice CHATEL pour le Prix de la jeune scientifique.
Ce prix met en valeur et encourage les travaux exceptionnels d’une jeune femme en faveur de la science.
- L’opération « Ingénieur-e Demain » conduite par l’association OPE-URIS pour le Prix de la meilleure action.
Ce prix soutient une personne ou une entité qui contribue à susciter des vocations de femmes dans les sciences.
Chaque lauréat a reçu une dotation de 10 000 euros.
A l’occasion de cette cérémonie, François Goulard a déclaré : « Le pacte pour la recherche a été complété par tout un volet d’actions en faveur de l’égalité professionnelle entre les femmes et les hommes». Il a par ailleurs précisé : « Il sera mis fin à l’exception au décret d’application de la Loi sur l’égalité professionnelle entre les femmes et les hommes pour le secteur de la recherche ». Le Ministre a ajouté : « Une représentation équitable des sexes sera ainsi respectée dans les instances nouvellement créées par la loi de programme pour la recherche, telles que le Haut Conseil de la Science et l’Agence Nationale de l’Evaluation ». Cette représentation équitable sera également mise en œuvre dans les établissements, organismes et directions du Ministère.
François Goulard a annoncé, enfin, la création d’un Comité pour l’égalité professionnelle entre les femmes et les hommes. Nommé pour 3 ans, il sera composé d’une dizaine de personnalités, notamment des scientifiques de haut niveau. Ce comité aura pour mission de dresser un état des lieux et de proposer au Ministre des recommandations en matière d’égalité professionnelle entre les femmes et les hommes dans la recherche et l’enseignement supérieur. Il remettra un rapport dans six mois sur ce point, et un premier rapport d’étape le 8 mars, pour la Journée de la Femme. Le Comité sera l’instance consultative réservée du Ministre, qui pourra le saisir en tant que de besoin.

Noël Forgeard de son côté s’est exprimé en ces termes :
« Cette initiative, dont nous avons souhaité être partenaire pour la deuxième année consécutive, conforte ma certitude : une meilleure synergie privée et publique dans la recherche est essentielle pour que la France et l’Europe restent au premier plan mondial. Les grands succès actuels d’EADS (Airbus, Eurocopter, Ariane) sont le fruit d’innovations qui n’auraient pu voir le jour sans une excellence de la recherche française, publique et privée. »
Il a précisé : « Les pôles de compétitivité, auxquels Airbus, Astrium, EADS participent, sont des modèles de rapprochement. Nous renforçons notre coopération avec les centres de recherche européens comme l’ONERA et le DLR en Allemagne. En France, à travers la Fondation d'entreprise EADS, nous soutenons différentes initiatives : bourses de recherche, prix pour des chercheurs, financement de chaires d'enseignement et de recherche. Cela représente un effort de plus de 24 millions d'euros sur 5 ans.»
Et ajouté «Les femmes ne représentent que 31 % des chercheurs de la recherche académique et 21 % des effectifs de la recherche privée. Nous devons permettre aux femmes de valoriser leur potentiel dans le respect d’un équilibre avec la vie personnelle. C’est la démarche que nous avons choisi d’engager dans notre entreprise en développant une politique active de parité incluant la participation à des initiatives comme « Women Initiative in sciences and Technology », « Women’s forum for the economy and society » ou « le prix Irène Joliot-Curie ».

Chaque lauréat a reçu une dotation de 10 000 euros.
A l’occasion de cette cérémonie, François Goulard a déclaré : « Le pacte pour la recherche a été complété par tout un volet d’actions en faveur de l’égalité professionnelle entre les femmes et les hommes». Il a par ailleurs précisé : « Il sera mis fin à l’exception au décret d’application de la Loi sur l’égalité professionnelle entre les femmes et les hommes pour le secteur de la recherche ». Le Ministre a ajouté : « Une représentation équitable des sexes sera ainsi respectée dans les instances nouvellement créées par la loi de programme pour la recherche, telles que le Haut Conseil de la Science et l’Agence Nationale de l’Evaluation ». Cette représentation équitable sera également mise en œuvre dans les établissements, organismes et directions du Ministère.
François Goulard a annoncé, enfin, la création d’un Comité pour l’égalité professionnelle entre les femmes et les hommes. Nommé pour 3 ans, il sera composé d’une dizaine de personnalités, notamment des scientifiques de haut niveau. Ce comité aura pour mission de dresser un état des lieux et de proposer au Ministre des recommandations en matière d’égalité professionnelle entre les femmes et les hommes dans la recherche et l’enseignement supérieur. Il remettra un rapport dans six mois sur ce point, et un premier rapport d’étape le 8 mars, pour la Journée de la Femme. Le Comité sera l’instance consultative réservée du Ministre, qui pourra le saisir en tant que de besoin.

Noël Forgeard de son côté s’est exprimé en ces termes :
« Cette initiative, dont nous avons souhaité être partenaire pour la deuxième année consécutive, conforte ma certitude : une meilleure synergie privée et publique dans la recherche est essentielle pour que la France et l’Europe restent au premier plan mondial. Les grands succès actuels d’EADS (Airbus, Eurocopter, Ariane) sont le fruit d’innovations qui n’auraient pu voir le jour sans une excellence de la recherche française, publique et privée. »
Il a précisé : « Les pôles de compétitivité, auxquels Airbus, Astrium, EADS participent, sont des modèles de rapprochement. Nous renforçons notre coopération avec les centres de recherche européens comme l’ONERA et le DLR en Allemagne. En France, à travers la Fondation d'entreprise EADS, nous soutenons différentes initiatives : bourses de recherche, prix pour des chercheurs, financement de chaires d'enseignement et de recherche. Cela représente un effort de plus de 24 millions d'euros sur 5 ans.»
Et ajouté «Les femmes ne représentent que 31 % des chercheurs de la recherche académique et 21 % des effectifs de la recherche privée. Nous devons permettre aux femmes de valoriser leur potentiel dans le respect d’un équilibre avec la vie personnelle. C’est la démarche que nous avons choisi d’engager dans notre entreprise en développant une politique active de parité incluant la participation à des initiatives comme « Women Initiative in sciences and Technology », « Women’s forum for the economy and society » ou « le prix Irène Joliot-Curie ».

IBERIA’S FINANCE MANAGER, ENRIQUE DUPUY DE LÔME, AWARDED “ASSET” PRIZE FOR FINANCIAL EXCELLENCE
In recognition of Enrique Dupuy’s leadership of such operations as the leveraged buyout of Amadeus, the securitisation of 20 aircraft, and the first Spanish operational leasing arrangement in aircraft finance.
The award was made by ASSET, the Spanish acronym for “Spanish Association of Company Financial Manager and Treasurers”, founded in 1990, with 500 members and cooperating institutions.
Madrid, November 17, 2005:
Iberia’s financial manager, Enrique Dupuy, received the first Financial Excellence Award, in the Financial Executive category, given by the Asociación Española de Financieros y Tesoreros de Empresa (ASSET), founded in 1990, and which has 500 members and cooperating institutions.
The award ceremony was held yesterday in the Casino de Madrid, and chaired by the Financer Counsellor of the Madrid Regional Government, Ms. Engracia Hidalgo. Also attending was the Director of the Spain’s Treasury and Financial Policy Agency, Ms. Soledad Núñez Ramos.
Members of the jury included senior executives of firms like Ernst & Young, Unión Fenosa, Telefónica, Endesa, and Caja Madrid, and of organisations like AFI (International Financial Analysts) or the Instituto de Estudios Económicos.
The award to Enrique Dupuy was given in recognition of his leadership in projects such as the LBO of Amadeus, the securitisation –the first of its kind—of 20 Airbus family aircraft, and the first operational leasing deal for financing aircraft with tax advantages for Spanish investors. Also noteworthy was the purchase from Airbus of 79 A320-family aircraft to replace Iberia’s short- and medium-haul fleet.
It is not the first time that Iberia or its managers have received an award like this one. Last April, the financial magazine AirFinance Journal, one of the most renowned in the commercial aviation industry, honoured Iberia with its award for the Best Financing Structure in 2004. The previous year the same publication gave Iberia its award for “Best Airline Finance Team”.
