Alan LAMOND
Chairman
British Aviation Group (BAG)
Alan Lamond is new British Aviation Group Chairman.

The British Aviation Group is pleased to announce that its new Chairman will be Alan Lamond. Alan will formally take over from Malcolm Trigg at BAG's Annual Meeting on Thursday 18 September. Alan will seek to continue the work begun under Malcolm that saw BAG re-launched with a wider remit at the beginning of 2008 to encompass the interests of a broader range of companies than the previous focus on only airports.

The British Aviation Group (BAG) - formerly the British Airports Group - is open to all UK based companies providing services or products to the national and international civil aviation and airports markets. In 2008 BAG is continuing to deliver long haul events on behalf of UK Trade & Investment and is also developing a programme of activities and missions focusing on the European and domestic marketplaces.

Alan is Aviation Director at Pascall+Watson architects. He is an established expert in airport design and travels the world to seek out best practice. He has worked on numerous projects including those at Gatwick, Manchester and all five Terminals at Heathrow in the UK, as well as airports across Europe, the Middle East, and Asia. Alan passionately believes that there is always room for improvement in the masterplanning, architecture and interior design of airports to deliver functionality, aesthetic value and a pleasant customer experience.

Alan Lamond, the new Chairman of the British Aviation Group, said:

"I am delighted and honoured to be named as the new Chairman of the British Aviation Group. There are important challenges facing the entire aviation industry, such as climate change, and these require a cross-industry approach. I am committed to making sure that BAG is at the centre of these debates and representing all the companies involved.

"I also pay tribute to Malcolm Trigg's contribution in moving BAG forward. I am very much looking forward to building on the successes that BAG has achieved under Malcolm with the assistance of the hardworking staff of the Group.

"We have made the services we currently offer more widely available to a larger group of companies and reinforced BAG's role as the authoritative voice of the UK airport services industry. Our focus as we go forward has to be on maximising commercial opportunities for our members at home and abroad - and I am to ensure that we do just that."

Jean-Yves LE GALL
Chairman & Chief Executive Officer
Arianespace

A record-breaking year

The shareholders of Arianespace approved the financial statements for 2006, showing sales of 983 million euros. Arianespace posted a profit for the fourth year in a row (6.3 million euros), despite a euro/dollar exchange rate which is still very unfavorable to the company's business.

These results reflect both the growth in business volume, and the company's technical and commercial successes. Arianespace logged record-breaking performance in 2006. With five Ariane 5 ECA launches from the Guiana Space Center and two Soyuz launches from the Baikonur cosmodrome, Arianespace and subsidiary Starsem orbited twelve satellites and one technology payload. At the same time, Arianespace signed twelve new launch Service & Solutions contracts, thus ensuring a constant backlog of about forty satellites to be launched, equal to more than three years of workload for all suppliers.

A new management

The Board of Directors named Jean-Yves Le Gall, previously Chief Executive Officer, as Chairman & Chief Executive Officer. The members of the Board and, particularly the representative of the European Space Agency, expressed their satisfaction with Arianespace's current situation and their confidence in the new Chairman & CEO to lead Arianespace in meeting the new challenges facing the company over the next five years, while maintaining continuity with past actions.

Hans LERCH 57 years old
Chairman of the Board of Directors
SR Technics
SR Technics will see a change at the top of its executive management in January 2008: Hans Lerch is to focus on his mandate as Chairman of the Board of Directors, and will step down as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at the end of this year. He will be succeeded as CEO by Bernd Kessler.
Hans Lerch declared soon after assuming the position as CEO of SR Technics that he intended to serve in this executive function for a maximum of three years. He is now carrying out his intention: from January 1, 2008, Lerch, who is 57 years old and a Swiss national, will focus on serving as Chairman of the Board of the SR Technics Group, and will hand the CEO function to Bernd Kessler. Lerch has been a member of the SR Technics Board of Directors since 2002 and has served as its Chairman since the company was sold to a United Arab Emirates-based consortium a year ago. He assumed the position of CEO of SR Technics at the end of 2005. Prior to this, he had spent almost 35 years with Kuoni, the international travel corporation, the last of them as Group CEO and a member of its board of directors.
As CEO of SR Technics, Hans Lerch was instrumental in the company’s successful sale to the UAE-based consortium after its previous owners 3i and Star Capital had announced
their intention to dispose of their shareholdings at the beginning of 2006. Since then, as Chairman & CEO, he has steadily developed the collaboration with new owners Mubadala Development, Dubai Aerospace Enterprise and Istithmar. To provide a firm foundation for SR Technics further development, Lerch has consolidated the rapid growth that the
company had undergone since it became independent from the Swissair Group in 2002 by adopting a supranational organisational structure and accelerating the standardising of
processes groupwide.
“The collaboration between our new owners and our management is now well in place, and the actions we have taken to further our own internal consolidation are starting to
deliver results,” Hans Lerch explains. “The next phase in SR Technics’ development,
continuing our growth strategy with a prime emphasis on the rapidly-expanding markets in
the Middle East and Asia, will now be conducted under the executive leadership of a proven industry specialist.”
