COO Doug Shockey Leaving Pinnacle Airlines Corp., Replaced by John Spanjers
MEMPHIS, Tenn., Oct. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Pinnacle Airlines Corp. (NASDAQ: PNCL) announced today that Doug Shockey, vice president and chief operating officer, is resigning from the company. He will be replaced by John Spanjers, who will also retain the title of senior vice president, operations for Mesaba Aviation.
Shockey joined Pinnacle in 1995 as vice president, maintenance and engineering. He was promoted to COO in 2002.
"Doug played a vital role in growing Pinnacle Airlines into a premium regional airline operator in North America, and I wish him continued success," said Sean Menke, president and CEO of Pinnacle Airlines Corp.
Spanjers joined Mesaba in 1999 as vice president, flight operations, and was promoted to Mesaba's COO in June 2002. He was named president of Mesaba in September 2002.
"John brings a proven track record of operational excellence to the COO role," said Menke. "He has first-hand experience running a safe and highly-reliable airline, and those factors will be vital to Pinnacle's ongoing success."

Joachim Hunold souhaite continuer à participer à la vie de la société en tant que cadre non dirigeant, et propose Hartmut Mehdorn, lequel fait déjà partie du Conseil d'administration de la société, au poste de PDG en tant que successeur provisoire.

NASA astronaut Garrett Reisman has left the agency to return to private industry. Reisman is a veteran of two spaceflight missions, including a long-duration mission on the International Space Station.
"I had the pleasure of working with Garrett in space during Expedition 16," said Peggy Whitson, chief of the Astronaut Office at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston. "He is an incredibly accomplished professional and well-known for his great sense of humor. We wish him the best in this new phase of his career, but we will miss him greatly."
Reisman, who holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering, joined NASA in 1998. Before flying in space, he served in multiple technical roles including work supporting robotics and the advanced vehicles branch of the Astronaut Office.
Reisman's first spaceflight mission was as flight engineer during expeditions 16 and 17 on the station in 2008. During his three months aboard, he performed a seven-hour spacewalk, conducted numerous robotics activities and participated in the installation of the
Japanese Kibo laboratory and its logistics module.
Reisman visited the station again during his second spaceflight, STS-132 in May 2010. He conducted two additional spacewalks during the mission, logging 14 more hours outside.

Kellner joined Continental in 1995 as chief financial officer. In May 2001, he was elected president of the airline and to the Board of Directors, and in March 2003, he was named president and chief operating officer. He became chairman and chief executive officer in December 2004.
Prior to joining Continental, Kellner was executive vice president and chief financial officer of American Savings Bank, owned by The Robert M. Bass Group. Prior to that, he was executive vice president and chief financial officer of The Koll Company, a private real estate investment and construction firm.
Kellner graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor of science in business administration from the University of South Carolina, where he served as Student Body President. In addition, the University of South Carolina presented him with the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1998.
Kellner is active in numerous community and civic organizations. He currently serves on the board of directors for Marriott International and the Air Transport Association. On the civic front, he is a member of the board of directors for the Methodist Hospital, YMCA of Greater Houston, the Greater Houston Partnership, the Spring Branch Education Foundation, and Central Houston, Inc., and is a member of the Boy Scouts of America National Executive Board. Kellner also serves on the advisory boards of the March of Dimes and Teach for America, and is on the development board of the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. He resides in Houston with his wife, Susan, and their four children.

Jacques Saint-Laurent, président de Bell Helicopter à Mirabel, a quitté ses fonctions vendredi pour devenir président des opérations européennes du fabricant d’hélicoptères. Une promotion pour le principal intéressé, mais une perte pour l’industrie aéronautique québécoise.
Jacques Saint-Laurent a été intimement lié au développement de l’usine de Bell Helicopter à Mirabel depuis son tout premier jour, tout comme aux succès phénoménaux qu’a enregistrés l’usine au cours des dernières années.
Il a été parmi les 100 premiers Québécois à être embauchés par Bell Textron, en 1984, pour être formés durant deux ans aux installations de la maison mère au Texas en prévision de l’ouverture de l’usine de Mirabel en 1986.
Il y a fait ses débuts comme ingénieur d’essais en vol et il a occupé par la suite différents postes de direction, avant de devenir président et chef de la direction de Bell Helicopter Canada en 2002.

Continental Airlines announced today that its senior vice president customer experience, David Grizzle, 54, has informed the company that he has decided to retire effective Sept. 19, 2008 to pursue other commercial and charitable activities.
"David has been a dedicated and valued member of our senior management team during his 23 years at Continental," said Larry Kellner, Continental's chairman and chief executive officer. "He has contributed greatly to our airline by focusing on the customer and using creativity to resolve issues. We will miss him, and wish him well in this next phase of his career."
Grizzle has held various positions during his tenure at Continental. He has served as senior vice president of marketing strategy and corporate development and was vice president of legal and corporate affairs for Texas Air Corporation, the former parent company of Continental. He joined New York Airlines (which later merged with Continental Airlines) in 1984 as vice president of administration and general counsel. During a leave of absence from Continental in late 2004 and 2005, Grizzle served in Afghanistan as transportation and infrastructure coordinator for the U.S. Department of State.
"No airline has a more consistent and methodical commitment than Continental to improve the customer experience, and that focus will continue and expand long after my departure," said Grizzle.

Carson, 63, has led BCA since 2006 after two years heading up the unit's sales organization, where he was credited with reinvigorating sales of Boeing commercial airplanes and related services to airline customers and leasing companies around the world. He previously served as BCA's executive vice president and chief financial officer, where he led the finance and business strategy organizations, as well as information systems and services. He also held leadership positions in the company's defense business and was the first president of Connexion by Boeing.

Scott Griffin has announced his retirement after 28 years at Boeing.
Griffin, 52, is retiring July 1. He has been Boeing CIO since 1999, and his 28 years of service to the company have included positions in customer support, manufacturing and information technology in both the commercial and defense business units. He will be pursuing a master's degree in non-profit leadership at Seattle University, starting this summer.
