LOCKHEED MARTIN NAMES MARK VALERIO TO HEAD SPECIAL PROGRAMS ORGANIZATION
DENVER, COLO., June 14, 2006
Lockheed Martin Corporation (NYSE: LMT) today named Mark Valerio vice president and general manager, special programs for its Space Systems Company. Valerio succeeds Thomas J. Scanlan, who is retiring June 30.
Valerio will lead one of Space Systems Company's largest lines of business, which comprises more than 2,200 employees, focusing on sensitive national security space system developments.
"Mark Valerio is highly qualified for this assignment. His career with Lockheed Martin spans 26 years, including significant program management experience in first-of-a-kind programs for a wide-range of customers," said G. Thomas Marsh, Space Systems Company's executive vice president.
In his previous role, Valerio was responsible for integrating processes and best practices across the entire special programs line of business. He also has served as vice president and deputy of the Space Based Infrared System program, and he led the design, development and delivery of Lockheed Martin's first three A2100 satellites.
Valerio earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Widener University and master's degrees in both business administration and information systems from the University of Colorado at Denver.
"During 37 years serving with the U.S. Air Force, the National Reconnaissance Office and Lockheed Martin, Tom Scanlan has devoted his career to the success of the nation's space program and some of its most critical national security programs. We salute his dedication to the company and the country," Marsh said.

He then joined Airbus and after one year in Strategy department, he was named A380 deputy Chief Engineer and completed the EASA A380 type certificate.
From September 2007 to June 30th, 2011 Erick Van Aelst was Airbus Head of A300/A310 Program Management and A300/A310 Chief Engineer.
Since June 1st, 2011, Erick Van Aelst is deputy to A350 XWB Chief Engineer, with particular care about A350-1000 version.
Erick Van Aelst was born in 1956 in Casablanca Marocco. He graduated from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de l'Aéronautique et de l'Espace in Toulouse in 1980 and holds a master degree in economics delivered in 1985 by IPA – IAE Toulouse. Erick enjoys flying, scuba-diving and running.

Southwest Airlines Announces New Executive Vice President of Aircraft Operations
In his new position, Van de Ven will oversee Dispatch, Flight Operations, Maintenance, Safety and Security, and Schedule Planning. Van de Ven is a member of Southwest's Executive Planning Committee and has been instrumental in spearheading Southwest's codeshare agreement with ATA Airlines. Van de Ven replaces Jim Wimberly who plans to retire at the end of the year.
"In the last 12 years, Mike has been intimately involved with our operating departments, both from an internal audit and a planning perspective," said Gary Kelly, Southwest's Chief Executive Officer. "Mike is a great Leader and brings a wealth of knowledge, skill, and energy to his new position."
Van de Ven earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Texas and also is a Certified Public Accountant. Van de Ven joined the Southwest family in 1993 and most recently held the position of Southwest's Senior Vice President of Planning. He has held several other positions at the Company including Vice President Financial Planning and Analysis, Senior Director of Financial Planning and Analysis, Director of Financial Planning, and Director of Internal Audit. Prior to joining the Southwest family, Van de Ven was a Senior Audit Manager at Ernst and Young in Dallas.

Mika Vehviläinen, COO of Nokia Siemens Networks, has been named as Finnair's new CEO and takes up his new post on January 5, 2010. Vehviläinen comes from Nokia Siemens Networks where he has served most recently as COO. He joined Nokia in 1991, and has held several management positions in sales and marketing, strategy and business development of Nokia’s product businesses in Asia, North America, and Europe.
Finnair's current President & CEO Jukka Hienonen will leave his post at the end of January 2010. "Finnair has all that it takes to emerge from the hard times as a winner, but this will require goal-directed development of the business practices," said Vehviläinen as the news was announced.
He has strong experience of sales and marketing and of strategic management and business development in Asia, North America and Europe.
Mika Vehviläinen was born in 1961, in Finland and holds an Advanced Management Program (AMP) degree from Harvard Business School and a Master of Science (Economics) degree from the Helsinki School of Economics.

Gulf Air announced the appointment of Des Vertannes to the position of Head of Cargo with immediate effect. In his new role he will report directly to Gulf Air’s Vice President – Business Units, Ali Murtada
“This senior appointment will further strengthen and help grow our cargo operation to take advantage of the significant future growth opportunities in the region and our strong regional and international network,” says Murtada. “Des has a wealth of cargo experience and this strategic appointment increases the focus on our cargo business.”
Vertannes, a 35-year veteran of the cargo and air freight business, started his career with British Airways and has also worked with, among others, Air Canada and Menzies Aviation across the UK, USA and Europe.
“Gulf Air has a huge pedigree in the region when it comes to its cargo service,” he says. “I intend to build on that lineage and the vibrance of the new brand in what is a stimulating, energetic yet still relatively unsophisticated industry.”
Vertannes will be involved in all aspects of Gulf Air’s cargo strategy, building on the success that Murtada and his team has achieved over the last two years.
“The air cargo industry has a track record of solid and steady growth and the prediction is this will continue for some years to come. The liberalisation of air trade will demand more air cargo movements and I am determined to ensure Gulf Air is well placed to compete and meet that demand.
“My first job will be the development of a new strategic plan in line with the new two hub strategy announced at last week’s board meeting,” he adds. “This will include progressing the freighter implementation programme.”

Since joining Boeing in 1976, Mr. VerWey has held a variety of engineering, sales and marketing positions including airplane configuration design for 767/747 product development, airline market analysis, chief engineer for airline requirements and business director for European sales.
In 1989 he joined the product strategy organization where he actively worked toward the commitment and launch of the Boeing 777.

In his new role, Vice will lead a premier provider of life cycle solutions and long-term technical services for customers globally. The sector's key capabilities include systems support, training and simulation, and life cycle optimization and engineering for programs such as KC-10 Extender refueling aircraft logistics support; Nevada Test Site management and operations; U.S. Army Battle Combat Training Program; Hunter unmanned aerial vehicle life cycle support; and biometric capture services for the Department of Homeland Security.
Vice most recently served as sector vice president and general manager, Battle Management and Engagement Systems division within the company's Aerospace Systems sector. Prior to that, he was vice president, Airborne Early Warning and Battle Management Command and Control - Navy programs. He also served as sector vice president, Business Development; sector vice president, Operations; and sector vice president, Materiel. He joined Northrop Grumman as an engineer on the B-2 program in 1986.
Vice received his Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Southern California and has completed numerous advanced management programs. During his 41-year active duty career in the Navy, Admiral Rempt oversaw the research, development and deployment of numerous weapons systems, headed up two of the Navy's prestigious academic institutions, and spent thirteen years at sea. Most significantly, he led the conceptualization, requirements definition, technical development and system engineering and testing of the Navy's Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System for eleven years in Washington, D.C. During this period he obtained developmental resources in excess of $2 billion.
"Admiral Rempt is a leader with broad vision, an expert in strategic planning and has the unique ability to conceptualize new capabilities and products," said Lute Maleki, President and CEO of OEwaves, Inc. An air defense expert, Admiral Rempt conceived and led the Navy's efforts in air warfare during five different assignments on the CNO's staff and in the Systems commands. He also served for three-and-a-half years as U.S. Member and Chairman of the thirteen nation NATO Sea-Sparrow Steering Committee, and as the U. S. member of the Rolling Airframe Missile (RAM) bilateral U.S./German Steering Committee. Based on his leadership, the NATO Steering Committee initiated a new Evolved Sea-Sparrow Missile development involving 22 industry partners in ten nations and significantly expanded participation and third party sales.
He also served two years as the President of the Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island, the Navy's graduate university in National Security Studies. Under his leadership the War College helped redefine the Navy's role in the post 9/11 Global War on Terror.
Most recently, Admiral Rempt was Superintendent of the Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD for four years.

Les services rendus lui ont valu d’être reconnu « Pionnier d’Airbus » à côté de Roger Béteille, Ludwig Bölkow et Félix Kracht lors de la cérémonie « Airbus Heritage » organisée par EADS à Toulouse le 31 janvier 2001.
Autres activités : membre émérite de l’AAAF, professeur à SupAéro et à l’ENAC, membre du Comaéro (Comité pour l’histoire de l’Aéronautique) chargé de l’histoire d’Airbus.

Eric VINCENT rejoint Europe Airpost, compagnie membre du groupe ASL aviation, au poste de directeur commercial et du programme.
Il a pour mission le pilotage de la stratégie commerciale, de la commercialisation des activités, de la gestion du programme cargo et passagers, et de l’administration des ventes. Eric VINCENT, âgé de 41 ans est titulaire d’un double diplôme de la Reims Management School (RMS) / Middlesex University. Il a effectué l’ensemble de sa carrière au sein du groupe La Poste et de Geopost (holding colis du groupe La Poste), en exerçant des fonctions à l’international dans les domaines du marketing, de la vente et du développement international.
ASL aviation est un groupe de services aériens, constitué en mars 2008, à la suite du rachat d’Europe Airpost par Air Contractors. ASL aviation group propose 4 lignes de produits : le transport de fret, le transport de passagers, les services (ingénierie, maintenance, pièces détachées) et le leasing opérationnel d’avions. ASL aviation group est structuré en 3 branches d’activité : les compagnies Aériennes, les compagnies de Service, les compagnies de Leasing. Michael von Gizycki became the new Secretary General of ASD, the trade organisation which aims to advance the interests and promote the views of Europe’s aerospace and defence industries.
He succeeded François Gayet, who had been at the helm of ASD since 2005.
A German national, Mr Von Gizycki has substantial experience in public affairs and aerospace issues, having occupied high-level positions within EADS and the German engine manufacturer MTU.
Working in close cooperation with ASD’s 28 member associations and with the 18 companies represented on the ASD Council, Michael von Gizycki will steer ASD’s lobbying and networking activities, and engage with key stakeholders within EU institutions and agencies. Michael will be based at ASD’s office in Brussels.
Having started his career as a lawyer, Michael von Gizycki entered the aerospace world after joining MTU Aero Engines, a company where he occupied several VP, then senior VP positions between 1998 and 2004.
