|
Karen Evensen, the Vice President of Engineering for EADS North America Defense Test and Services, was named the 2007 Outstanding Woman in Technology by the California Orange County and Inland Empire Council of AeA, the largest high-technology trade association in the United States.
Evensen is responsible for coordinating the activities of over 140 engineers in multidisciplinary teams at EADS North America Defense Test and Services’ headquarters in Irvine, California and at multiple locations nationwide.
“Karen’s considerable skills and continued dedication to customer expectations and technical integrity have made her one of the key factors in the company’s success,” said David R. Oliver, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer of EADS North America Defense. “It is appropriate that her excellence has been acknowledged by AeA.”
In discussing her approach to technology, innovation, and teamwork, Evensen commented, “You need to find what unique passions and interests lie within your team and put them to work. It’s equally important that you embrace diversity in your teams – having different points of view will lead to opportunities not originally envisioned by the team and result in even more creative ideas. Each person on the team has a different, specific role to play to get the best innovation. I’m proud to be a part of such a team at EADS North America Defense Test and Services.”
Evensen was honored at the association’s 14th Annual High-Tech Innovation Awards dinner in Newport Beach, California. This event was attended by nearly 600 persons from local high-tech companies, financial and government institutions, as well as academic leaders, educators, students, investors and media affiliates.
The awards recognized local companies, individuals and products in the fields of technology that drive innovation in Orange County and the Inland Empire area of Southern California. In addition, AeA recognized educators and students for their innovative use of math, science and technology in the classroom and the community in conjunction with Project Tomorrow, the nation’s leading education nonprofit group focused on preparing today’s students to be tomorrow’s innovators. | | Date parution : 22/05/2007 | | catégorie : Distinctions | | Modifier votre profil | |
